Hey you experts.
I am looking for a Dodge Ram Dually. Quad cab long box. 4.10 diff
Prefer Laramine or Longhorn
Diesel also.

years 2012 to 2014. Tow rating of 20 thousand lbs
Seems 2011 and older tow rating is lower

Thanks

Looking for info on them or trucks for sale?

2012 was the last non-DEF equipped trucks, the trade-off was massive amounts of EGR and crap fuel economy stock. Deletes solved that fairly easily. I have no experience with the DEF equipped Rams so I can't speak there.

2013 brought many good changes, which is why a 2013 will fetch a lot more then a 2012. Un-deleted 13+ is the way to go, if you delete not that much different. Being I was just in the market, duallies are not cheap and anything good is selling fast. I went with a 5500 instead. If it's a dually with 4.10's the factory tow rating doesn't matter, anything 2010 or newer will tow that will ease.

I am looking to buy one. For towing my toyhauler. I have just been following factory tow specs while looking.

Thanks.

Those are nice trucks.

I am in no rush.

Have snooped all kinds of ads over last couple weeks. A few potential ones I have found.

At some point the bottom will fall out of the used market and it will go back to normal too so I wouldn't want to get stuck buying one of those trucks and taking a huge loss. I went older, I got a 09 5500 with 180k for $16.5k including GST. I found any trucks priced over $30k were overpriced and I wouldn't spend that much for what they are, i'd rather go new. There was a 2014 crew cab slt dually with 240km that seemed ok at $21k, within a day there was like 5 people wanting it and sold instantly. And I wouldn't say that's really cheap, just a realistic price.

One thing to keep in mind, I had a 10 and have a 14, but a 2500. In either 13 or 14, they updated front suspension in the 3500, but I believe it was the 14's. My 14 at 190K has been bulletproof in the front end. Previous Rams I was rebuilding front ends starting at 80K. This one still has tight ball joints, and everything else in the front end.

Where do you find highways that smooth? I can't get a set of shocks to last past 60,000km on our roads.

Nobody has shocks last that long. Just because they aren’t leaking doesn’t mean they are still good. I’m at 145000 and Just changed out shocks, already changed the steering stabilizer shock twice.

I still haven't changed the stabilizer yet theres no play and the front end had no bounce, tire ware was even. I dont know what to tell you. When we took the old ones out they were hard to compress and still returned full out. Not leaking.

Seems when I find one I like. It’s a crazy price or pending sold.
