Question... How does the tethair work when you are warming up your sled and you walk away?

I suppose you would have to make sure your beer is within reach when you start it....

I would guess much like a corded tether you could leave the reciving unit sitting on the dash/seat/bars etc....

yep, once the sled is running safely, hang it nearby on the trailer. back on the wrist before touching any controls!

After reading this post and seeing everyone jump on Maxwell I thought I would see for myself while out this weekend how many people actually put their tethers on when leaving from the Cabin....day 1 out of 20 some odd sleds I only seen 2 people actually hook there tether to themselves and on day 2 out of 15 sleds that I watched leave nobody used their tether.

Looks like your not alone when it comes to not wearing your Tether Maxwell...and for the record I have never worn mine either.

In mcbride 2 weeks ago I would of been on trouble riding on the trail without my tether. Riding into blackwater I broke through a creek with my ski and a tree caught my throttle. My sled started taking off and my tether came off and turned the sled off.

The owner of this sled probably wished he worn his tether. He got bucked off, sled rolled pinned the throttle rolled back upright took off and went into an ice cave. I think he waiting to get in flown out.

Had mine take off wide open after starting. rolled off the bank and landed on the road on its side. bent steering stem, bars and a couple good scraps. I use mine now.

Last two days of riding I rode with my tether both days. First time ever. The dess thing always blinks a few times till I found the sweet spot, but otherwise it was an easy adjustment. Now I know what that little metal loop on my doo jacket is foor ;)

So I gave wearing the tether a 2 week trial to see how much of a pain it would be. I didn't clip it to myself but clipped it to itself making a loop and put the loop around my hand and put it around the handle bar grip when not using. I found that it wasn't a big deal to put on and off maybe took an extra second each time. Even tight tree riding it never got caught up. I will probably continue wearing one.
