I wear mine on my right wrist, it's hooked to itself to make a loop and I put it on and pull it tight it has never come off my hand. I never ride without it but I am guilty of starting the sled without it on. I am in the habit of squeezing the throttle before I start to make sure it is free and not frozen but it I should put that thing on before I start it. Was on the trail in Revy helping a guy out of the trees and a few people stopped to help. A mod sled behind me started up and it took off with the guy standing beside it, glanced off the back of my sled and nearly hit me in the legs, luckily the guy had his tether on and there was no damage done. I don't even want to think about how hard it would have hit if it would have been still running.

Ok for all the peeps that don't think you need one cause you check your controls before you start and it might get hooked up every now and then here is yet one more reason to wear one. Last ride out last Thurs down off the west side of the Notch a couple buddies were climbing both on cats M8 pulled and bud on M1000 went to mark and lost it on the apex of his turn he came off and landed about 15 feet below the sled. Sled rolled 3 times took him out and as it went over him his legs were under the track and his left arm hit the throttle and totally messed his legs M1000 full throttle for a couple seconds melted cat sled pants left rubber from elbow to wrist on his right arm. His sleds were droped at dealership in G.P yesterday to have tethers installed he will be going to the hospital for the next week to get daily shots for blood thining both his legs are purple and black from his feet to his hips and ultra sound showed blood clots hence the blood thinners.:d
