if the zone is shotgun/bow muzzleloader thats all that can be used there legally unless at a proper gun range. in Alberta anyways I am sure sask. would be the same.

imo the best gun for yotes is a 7mm mag. but that is just my opinion.lol range doesn't become such a factor then.

Well, I didn't think of this before. But I live in the shotgun zone. Does anyone know if it's ok to shoot coyotes with a rifle?

No rifles aloud my friend. Your in a shotgun/ bow zone only. I would try and trap them then break out the 12 gauge!! or bat!!!

Just don't, whatever you do, set out bait meat that has been poisioned. We lost 2 purebred Pitbulls to someone baiting with poision. One was a 5 year old healthy beautiful male (who loved me like nobody's business), the other was a rather large 9 month old Blue Pitbull. We almost lost our female as well, had to rush her to the vet more than once - needless to say we probably own a wing in Bonnyville's Animal Hospital.
No matter how behaved a dog is, if you are baiting with meat, chances are they will wander. And trust me, you don't wanna be the azzhole who killed your neighbours dog.

Or my own dogs for that matter. And I agree a 7mm mag is the best for coyotes. I think it's the best all around. It's what I have. Far from to small for big game. And a heavy hitter that shoots straight and far.

So I was out for about 2 hours tonight. Didn't hear/see anything...... very frustratin. But I'm sure the weather didn't help at all. 30 above was a little too hot for me even. So maybe I'll wait a month or two for the weather to cool off a bunch.
