Haha I honk too...
I drive to Valemount at least twice a month. My last windshield lasted less than 24 hours. I cannot afford to keep a clear windshield, as I seriously get a big a$$ crack every month in the winter. I think they use cannon balls instead of sand around Moose lake.
Holy fawk. I can't believe how whiney people are towards the cops. People bitch about them having their laptops open when you can't, they talk on their cell phones and you can't, they don't have running lights and you have to....it's called "tools of the trade". Different trades require different tools. There's a big difference between a cop touring down the road (who's extensively trained in defensve and offensive driving) with a computer beside him, and some yahoo fighting with his old lady on the cell phone. If you want to be let off without a ticket...DON'T BREAK THE FAWKING LAW!!! If you throw 2000lbs on the back of a 1/2 ton, open your wallet, if you think you're cool by tinting your side windows, same thing...prepare to pay for it. Doing 140k in an 80k zone, you deserve what you have coming. Time to grow up and stop blaming Johnny Law for doing their job.
I am not one for calling anyone out on here but Jared, if you think they are doing such a chitty job then go apply, go through the training and see how you do at it. Mounties for a fact go through a very hard defensive driving course in their training. You may very well be a good driver and could be better than them but where did you learn??? Have you learned to do high speed manouvers on good and bad road conditions in a controlled environment or did you learn on some backroad or worse on the hwy where you put the general public in danger????
No one is above the law and they unfortunately are the ones who enforce the laws. They dont make them but they enforce them. If you don't like how they do their job then go through the training and do it yourself. If you dont like the laws and aren't going to abide by them then dont b*tch when you get caught and pay your fines........you know its wrong. Judging by your attitude I'd say you've had a few run ins with Johnny Law and if you talked to them with the same level of respect as you've shown on here, I'd say you got the same level of respect back from them.
cops SUCK no matter how you spell it

Id pass that bs test with flying colors, couple of my buddys from high school became cops and now live in whistler. From what they said it was kind of a joke, everyone who says its hard is just trying to earn a hero medal or a gold star or trying to squeeze out a little respect that they don't deserve. Anybody can be a cop, its not rocket appliances!!!!!!!!!:d

Can't hate the cops for handing out dicky little tickets.
Morals and integrity? I take it you don't read the multiple stories about cops that lie in their reports? Such as the cops in the Vancouver airport? I read a story every week about cops that are caught red-handed lying about events. How about the "code" where they aren't supposed to tell the truth about each other's illegal antics? True, they aren't all that way, but to make a statement that "it takes someone with morals and integrity" is just as broad as the statement that all cops are bad. Cops have been losing respect from the general population because they are seen to feel they are above the law and are getting too militaristic. Everyone can say "just don't break the law". Well, some of these laws are ridiculous, it's getting to the point the government is trying to control everything you do. Who of you on here want the government controlling your every action? Just because a cop can't afford a sled or such, isn't a reason to target sledders. MrMorgan, you make the "redneck" comment. So because I may drive a truck with large tires and have a sled, I should "pay to play" by being targeted by cops? Maybe the cops should pay a little more attention to the pedophiles, murderers, met\heroin dealers, thieves, dirty politicians, and dirty cops, because those people harm society more than sledders, or as you call us "rednecks" with truck with big tires.Pull your head out of your azz dude ...just anyone can't be a Police Officer ....It takes someone with morals and integrity and a solid dose of common sense ....Of course there AlWAYS exceptions to the rules , as there are in any profession .....When did turn in to a police bashing thread ....\stay on track here ......
What do you want a medal buddy, like ur so innocent, get real clown:d
Oh, there we go. That's the usual intelligent stuff these threads bring out that remind me how great some people are. That's like saying all bus drivers suck, or all weightlifters suck. The five cops you've met in your life perfectly represent all the thousands of others, just like the two dozen roid monkeys I've met represent you. I guess I can unsubscribe from this thread now.
Cheers.
I saw a guy pulled over today! chevy 1500 with a steel sled deck and two old tundras on the back! what do these sleds weigh? they must be the lightest sleds known to man next to an elan......well DOT had him on scales.......I saw him at the gas station! they nailed him for being over weight (must be the steel sled deck lol).....tires not high enough load rating, and a few other things like tinted windows, and a cracked windsheild! he said it cost him $1200 and he didnt have the two sleds on the back of the truck! a friend came with his trailer to pick up both sleds.......gad to see cops/DOT are crackin down here in sicamous! I guess he is legal with a steel sled deck and his gear only!
Glad I have the 3/4 ton now!
well you gotta PAY TO PLAY
i dont even think i know of anyone who would consider a deck on a half ton
´HALF TON----------------------1000 LBS
maybe they shoud ve read the sticker on the door
let's see .. Couple sleds/quads at 5 or 6 hundred lbs each, steel or aluminum deck (very similar in weight actually,i bet withing 50 to 75 lbs of each other) extra fuel ,and misc gear .... I would bet that most 3/4 tons are overloaded as well so think about that.
I used to have a steel deck and 2 quads up on my z71 1/2 ton 4x4 and pull a holiday trailer ,it handled just fine although i also ran air bags ... I would rather see that than all these jacked up trucks with over sized balloon tires wobbling down the road at (usually) excessive speed ,with a punk kid..or a punk kid wannabe older dude behind the wheel on a testosterone trip.....
But hey ,that's just me
