Holy fawk. I can't believe how whiney people are towards the cops. People bitch about them having their laptops open when you can't, they talk on their cell phones and you can't, they don't have running lights and you have to....it's called "tools of the trade". Different trades require different tools. There's a big difference between a cop touring down the road (who's extensively trained in defensve and offensive driving) with a computer beside him, and some yahoo fighting with his old lady on the cell phone. If you want to be let off without a ticket...DON'T BREAK THE FAWKING LAW!!! If you throw 2000lbs on the back of a 1/2 ton, open your wallet, if you think you're cool by tinting your side windows, same thing...prepare to pay for it. Doing 140k in an 80k zone, you deserve what you have coming. Time to grow up and stop blaming Johnny Law for doing their job.

so there above the law oh my appologizes i forgot that bacon bits were higher up than normal citizens FAWK them!!!!! extensively trained in defensive and offensive driving that is a crock of crap I can handle a vehicle better than a cop can on the highway you dont need a course to learn how to drive. I cant wait for the first cop in cranbrook to cause a major accident in cranbrook for being on his phone or on his laptop or someone smokes him for not haveing there lights on but oh ya i forgot it would be someone elses fault cause hey the cops are better than god they do nothing wrong ever hahahaaha!!! So what you are a guy that has never ever broke the law before Good for you! whats wrong with tinting your side window like honestly you try and tell me a reason why it is bad to tint it and dont give me the BS cop excuse of I cant see the driver or it makes it hard to get at if in an accident cause that is BS your windshield has the same film in it as window tint so why dont they ban windshields???? Cops used to be good now it seems like if there is no money coming to them then why bother doing something about it!!! but hey if timmie's lit on fire you better believe those azz hats would be on there way down there asap to do something about it! and yes iam blaming the law for doing a Chitty job!!!!

The DOT guys and Traffic Services cops are there to write tickets.......and yes tickets means our money goes back to the govt. Yes there are guys out there on a power trip and most of the traffic and DOT guys are the same way but thats why they are in those positions.........cause when some guy starts b*itching and moaning about his overloaded half ton, not wearing a seatbelt, not having mudflaps or the driver is just lippin off they can flip through their books and find the tickets like the cracked windshield, no mudflaps. Bottom line in if you know its illegal then dont have it on your vehicle and if you still decide to then suck it up, shut your trap and pay the fine.

As for doing doughnuts in the intersection.........how many times did they go around???? Ever try driving a Charger or Crown Vic on chitty roads???? Maybe they were turning around to go to a call........and if I did that, I'd be smiling too.

Laptops arent active screens like the DVD player in ur truck. The disc drives are disabled just for this purpose. Laptops are needed so they can effectively do their jobs.....they're not watching movies.

If they didnt leave their cars running when its cold, it would cost us (the tax payers) more money. They're cars are cold and they gotta drive the nuts off it to get to a call then end up blowing the engine and who pays for that bill......we do.

And yes they should be setting an example and believe me.....they do get made an example of when they mess up. Way more than the general public and if anything they get it worse.

Sure they're are a few bad apples and guys on power trips, but is everyone perfect at your job??? Are there not idiots in your field of expertise too???

only going to make one point on your tinted windows statement.you walk up to the subject vehicle that you cannot see into. you have no idea what tha person or his passenger for that matter is doing. you get to the window subject puts a gun in your face and pulls the trigger. end of story.
cops have a good reason for the tinted windows law. i agree they look cool
but it is against the law.

next point you are driving down the road at night. in a low lit neighborhood. you stop at the corner to turn left or right doesn't matter. you see no headlights so clear to go rigth? "WRONG you just ran over little red riding hood on her way to grandmas house because you copuldn't see out your windows. i will stop there. i have had tinted windows, got tickets for tinted windows, and said kiss my azz to the cops when they give me the ticket for it. become friends with an officer and hear a few behind the scenes testimonies so to speak and your attitude changes really quick. and besides that i am gettin old and its way to hard to see backin up at night with tinted windows now. lol

i think ALL trucks are required to have mudflaps aren't they????????

If the body reaches the halfway point of the tire, then not required. This is why they dont come with them from dealer. Its AFTER all of us change the tires or lift that they become required. A stock truck with stock tires is still legal otherwise they would be required from the factory.

Problem when you get stopped is it is still based on the judgement of the officer.

I carry a copy of the Hiway Traffic Safety Act in my truck, it stops a lot of roadside conjecture...

I am not one for calling anyone out on here but Jared, if you think they are doing such a chitty job then go apply, go through the training and see how you do at it. Mounties for a fact go through a very hard defensive driving course in their training. You may very well be a good driver and could be better than them but where did you learn??? Have you learned to do high speed manouvers on good and bad road conditions in a controlled environment or did you learn on some backroad or worse on the hwy where you put the general public in danger????

No one is above the law and they unfortunately are the ones who enforce the laws. They dont make them but they enforce them. If you don't like how they do their job then go through the training and do it yourself. If you dont like the laws and aren't going to abide by them then dont b*tch when you get caught and pay your fines........you know its wrong. Judging by your attitude I'd say you've had a few run ins with Johnny Law and if you talked to them with the same level of respect as you've shown on here, I'd say you got the same level of respect back from them.

Alright here's another rant. I have nothing against the cops but some of them let their authority go to their heads.

1. Tint tickets are bullch!t from the stanpoint that they need to see what the driver is doing when they approach from behind for safety reason, great but theres no law to tint on the back windows, hell you can have them painted black if you want so whos to say there not a guy with a gun int he back seat when the cop approaches, stupid law!

2. Someone said about the laptop in front of them as TOOLS OF THE TRADE. I use a laptop in my truck as a TOOL OF THE TRADE for pipeline mapping but if i got caught with it on its my ass in the sling, altough I would probably be able to talk my way out of the ticket based on the circumstance. Whoever said the disc drive is locked out, what does that matter? I've seen cops driving and typing so you tell me if he's distacted or not.:nono:

3. And the cracked windshield issue, to a degree i agree with it but how does the damn DOT know that it didnt happen 100k ago down the road? I've had rocks come off the stupid gravel trucks and the windows split instantly. A spider webbed window is a different story.

yes but the guy in the back seat isnt driving. hes not gonna run over sombody because he cant see them.
second regardless of the time it happened any windsheild that has a horizontal crack is unsafe. in the event of an accident the windsheild will not bust the way they are designed to anymore and will more than likely bust along the crack creating a knife ike edge that can possibly cause severe injury or death by decapitation.

just sayin.

Yes all valid points, but I was saying that they dont like tint because they cant see if the driver is going to pull a weapon on them when there could be a guy in the back with a gun that they wont see because you can have tint.

And i agree with the integrity is gone on a cracked windshield but if your driving to valemont and it gets hit and cracked just outside of jasper, do they expect you turn around and head back to hinton to the nearest crystal glass to get it replaced?

I never said Fawk all about never getting a ticket, I just don't whine like a 6 year old when I get nailed for breaking the law. Never said fawk all about the cops being better than God either...they have a tough job to do, and with people jabbing at them all the time, it doesn't make it any easier for them. They get flak from both ends, if they try to enforce the laws, they're douchebags, if they sit back and do nothing, they're douchebags. Put yourself in their position just once. As far as tinted windows go, it's a law, wether dumb or not, if you tint your side windows you're probably going to get nailed. Say somebody runs over your kid at a crosswalk and takes off, and when the cops ask for a description of the driver, you say...uhhhh, don't know, he had tinted windows, but the car sure looked good. May be a bit of a stretch, but who knows? And you can outdrive a cop on the highway????? good for you.

i dont think anyone on here can outdrive a cop on the highway. you might think you did but radio travels way faster than anyone can drive.

I think typing plates into laptops may be going the wayside slowly but surely. They will testing new technology that uses a camera to read the licence plate and enters into the sytem automatically. Data then gets returned quickly. Fantastic way to run a lot of plates quickly.

Law is the law and someone thought it was a good law at the time. Don't like it, lobby your government to change it.

I drive to Valemount at least twice a month. My last windshield lasted less than 24 hours. I cannot afford to keep a clear windshield, as I seriously get a big a$$ crack every month in the winter. I think they use cannon balls instead of sand around Moose lake.:(

This thread was actually the first cop-bashing thread that was fun to read, usually they tick me off and make me think everyone on this site is retarded. This thread actually showed who the cops on the site are, who the dirtbags likely are, and that there are some decent, understanding, and intelligent people in this sport.

As for the dirtbags, I hope venting here helps you cope every time you have to pay a stupid tax. (Tickets are a tax for stupid decisions and/or stupid people). I'm glad that dirtbags exist so the cops can fill their unofficial quota on you. If and when I get pulled over, my smile and nice attitude will be so refreshing I'm sure I'll get a break.

Maybe the cops on this site will look at the dirtbag profiles, check out their vehicle and toy pictures, and then watch for them heading to the hills. Maybe they already do...hmmmm.

If you make enemies of the cops, you better make friends with the criminals. Remember, the cops are the biggest gang around, and they love chasing bad guys...are you a bad guy? :nono:

I'm the guy that laughs joyfully after you blow past me in Jasper at 140 kms in a 70 zone, only to get stopped a couple clicks up the road. Next time I'll honk so you know I'm laughing.
