ok. If i have a orange stock spring on my cf6 with a rating of 175-280 and changed to a goodwin dark blue with a rating of 200-310 what exactly is this going to do to the sled and its performance. When sled was at shop mechanic also recomended a shift kit. What are they and what do they do? Thanks for any help:d:beer:

I'd guess he recommended a "shift assist". It basically reduces spring binding issues in the secondary. The stiffer spring will increase your backshift, and slow down your upshift.

Thanks. So will this pull a little harder out of the hole or pull hard all the way through my shift. and by increasing back shift does it therefore engage at a higher rpm? farily new to sledding and all help is appreciated.:d

To increase your engagement RPM you need to go to a higher initial rate on the spring in your primary clutch; (ie: 130/300 to 160/300). "Pull" is controlled more in your primary clutch. Heavy weights in your primary will "pull" harder out of the hole than lighter ones, but too heavy will pull down your max RPM. Bumping up your engagement with a different primary spring such as the example I gave above is a cheap/simple way to launch harder out of the hole. We travelled all over SK/MB racing in snow drags and always made sure we had our sleds engaging at the max RPM allowed for the best holeshot.
