Just wanted to send out an apology to those people who tried to contact us on Friday. Most of us were out there Thursday night/Friday morning. Once we’ are a few miles west of Longview, there is not any cell service.

Some of the feedback we received from participants was to have more info on our website. We will try to implement that for all future events - for those that are not connected with us via TeamSnap.

Regards,
Cam

We had plans made to go to rally but as so often happens we had some stuff pop up that couldn't wait so we missed it. Still would like to thank Cam for the useful info he provided me directly via Facebook messenger. And big thumbs up to all volunteers of all clubs who give up countless hours of their time to ensure that we have great trails to explore when there is snow.

Cheers
Derek

great rally trails were great we did it in under 2 hours but missed the first part of the ride did it after we got back it was beat up after 200 sleds,we used to ride those trails back in the late 80's and early 90's with 2 foot mogels and no suspension nice to see the calgary club doing a great job bringing the trail system back to life we are not a member of the club but will donate

You could try the Lost Creek Rd. Not sure if they’re logging that now our weekend is over.

Glen may be able to confirm that.

Now that the Poker Rally is over, we have another major event coming up soon.

This is in conjunction with the CrowSnow Riders poker run.

Our combined goal is to raise $5400, this is the cost to fund one flight for STARS. A tax receipt is available for your donation!

Your best choice would be Lost Creek Road, the Spray Lakes Sawmill road that our club has an agreement with SLS to use and groom when they are not logging off of it.

You access this road - as it is not a designated trail - best from the Cataract Creek parking lot/trailhead. Proceed West from the parking lot on Cataract Creek Trail. You will go through the Cataract Creek valley, crossing Cataract Creek itself on a snowmobile bridge, and continue on the trail. About 250 yards after crossing the creek, the Trail turns right and crosses Lost Creek Road at right angles. If you do not turn right, but rather continue straight ahead - where other snowmobiles have gone - you will enter onto the Lost Creek Road. This road is the widest, safest area to train a new rider, and you can go over the SLS bridge across Cataract Creek, all the way to "the back", before taking a spar road off of the Lost Creek Road that goes onto Oyster Excursion Trail. Where the spar road goes off is a large turn-around area, to head back up & east on the road to return to the parking lot.

Hey everyone,
Just a note to anyone who wants to take the family out to Cataract for a fun ride. The recent activities have improved the safety and fun factor 10 fold over what we had in previous year prior to the flood. I was fortunate enough to take the kids out again on the Poker run this year with one of my kids riding her new zr200 and we had a blast. Flat wide trails, easy climbs up hills on the small machines with that packed base, additional signage .... etc. Kudos to the club and the extremely dedicated crew of trail and event volunteers.

Was out there for the last 2 days. Yesterday sled grooming today just panning because of to much powder to groom. Anywhere from 2 inches to 5 inchs fresh. More further back

For those out riding and may not be totally sure where you are on the system we have maps. Ever staging area has a map box. There are new maps of the area divided into north and south trails. Little bigger and easy to see. Check out the supporters who helped support the club and help us purchase the big groomer. Support those who support snowmobiling out there

Last year some knowledgeable club members, who knew the old trail in the bush, made it from Cataract to the Dutch Creek intersection on the Atlas Road. Because of the conditions on that bush trail, going was slow. They turned around because of the time of day, and what they had to go back through.

The “fast way” is to take the 940 Hwy South from Cataract to Dutch Creek, then in to the Atlas Road intersection. This is now not possible as Hwy 940 is graded up through the pass and South for log hauling by Spray Lakes Sawmills.

If you find an alternate, let us know.
