Clearly you have a inclusion at 10:00 oclock. I see beach marks at 1:00 with rust. This is not a opperator abuse issue ( you might be one of those guys) but it dosn't matter. Warranty is a failure of workmanship or material ::: Period. If you are in the warranty period no issue hands down. if you are just out you need to look at some policy help like builder parts you labor..............

While I'm at it, Great sled with great R&D, Great handling, But WTF with the 16000 on a new free ride. Stop the madness. Pure to the doo but I have to open the wallet to comon sense.

So tell me how they can take the same sled that is made here in Canada sell it for say 2-3 grand cheaper in the states? If chit cost more here to do business then shouldn't it be more money across the border.

The thread title is " looking for input on what you want out of a snowmobile" maxwell. A lot of these guys are after reliability (what they "want" such as the title) so don't dis their opinions and call them names. You can not call a motor failure at 1000km "lack of maintenance" you ignorant sob. That's like your truck blowing an engine at 25,000km and just saying" OHH WELL!" Had you have titled it, "what cool options would you like to see BRP come out with" you could may have gotten what your after.

they are looking for new features and items to add to the machine. making a broad statement like reliability is NOT the point of this.

im pretty sure the engineers at skidoo are working away at the reliability "issue" rather than some of the goofs on snowandmud who think they are smarter.

you want less than 500lbs...more than 160hp...and a 2stroke.....this is not an easy task

now that I'm on my 4th rum........................ and my biggest beef is with the Canadian pricing. here is a little reality. Just back from palm springs and thought I would do a little tour though the GMC ( Chevy) dealer while i was there.. Here is what the guts is. It is not about what it cost to build. It is all about what you will pay. It is called market based pricing. If they want 16000 plus for a freeride and there are none left ( I'm sure someone will find one) ( but that will be just one) that is not the point. If ther aren't any and you want it you will pay. Here is what the MSRP is on a 2011 GMC Crew full load in the Cali. Take this price to your local dealer and see what happens. Remember the us buyers are pulling 10000-12000 off the MSRP just like we try to do. They are doing the same thing. It is not about bang for you buck it is about the upper tolerance of what the market will bare. Polaris has not bought into this as you have all seen here in Canada the prices on them. they want volume and they have dropped their shorts to do it. ( quads too). Doo has the market and they are working it for every thing they have. I like my doo but after seeing this I have a bad boner for GMC and them. I have been loyal to them for 15 yrs But I can only bare so much. To stay with the theme of the post ... SkiDoo if you are watching you have reached my tolerance level and it is time to back down or I will be looking at better VALUE.

hope the GMC cops don't ring my door bell in the morn............for those who read this yes your full, full load GMC is 20,000 cheaper in the states

I do apologize Maxwell as my computer showed your reply before polarblu's comment last night, even as I went to double check before I made myself look like an azzhat. you do have a good point with people wanting less than 500lbs, more than 160hp out of a 2 stroke but I think BRP needs to hurt some of the customers feeling by adding weight to accomodate the motor such as wider bearings, and not cutting oil consumption in half. That's less lubrication.

Are Doo's really built in Canada? Cause im pretty sure they come out of mexico in bond shipped to canada, and the price tags are welll just say it would make your hair curl. These i know are facts

im not actually sure. i know all the parts come out of quebec but as for the assembely of sleds im not sure. i do know alot of the parts are made in foreign countrys thats forsure...just like anything else i guess

For those who do not want to pay the extra $, or cant afford the extra $, ski doo offers the Summit everest model. If you want 4 way adjustable shocks, nicer bars/controls, wider/stronger runningboards, stronger chassis and skid you can pay and extra $ 2000 to get it oem, or perhaps pay $ 4000 aftermarket worth of aftermarket parts, plus labour and put it on your everest later, as the consumer you, have to make that choice. I think the Summit FR was a good experiment, they sold evrey one they made, some of the other oems should offer it too... for those that want it, they will buy it.

I see you like GMC, if you want a corvette, cool, you should go buy one, but why do they charge more for the ZR1 ? Cause it costs more to make, and its better...

The sleds are still assembeled in "Le Belle Province", motors are from Rotax in Austria, brakes are from Brembo in Italy, shocks are from Kayaba(japanese company but probly made in China ?) thats all I know....
The atv's and Side x sides are assembeled in Mexico, the PWC's are made in Canada or the Usa( you can tell by the vin # it either starts with CA or US, the Boats are made in USa, the spyders are also made in Quebec.
If your BRP product vin # starts with # 2 it is made/assembeled in CANADA, if the vin starts with the # 3 its made/assembeled in Mexico

Storage. Better venting. Clickers. I can't see why with today's technology a manufacturer can't install from the factory a chip for tracking should the sled get stolen. :confused:

Make it the best utilizing the after market right out of the box. I am tired of spending 12-16G on a sled than you have to go and purchase all the aftermarket parts to make it run right. It should be set up properly by the dealer for the area you live in or ride at instead of being calibrated for sea level or where ever it was built. If a camo extreme, is the best mountain track it should be on it, if a holz skid and a-arms are the best it should be on it, if a cr tunnell is the best it should be on it,If mo-flow vents are the best, put them on. if a boss seat is the best. put it on, and so on and so forth. They have access to the same aftermarket that we doo. Build it right do some R&D and people will buy it.

First of all there prices are a couple k to high. Second they need to weed out the ignorant dealers. Third, BRP needs to smarten up and start demanding better engine building from the "know it all" Austrians. Why can't the idiots put a second ring in pistons so they don't have to be changed every 2500km. Why can't they put a proper lube system on the center crank bearing instead of a stupid blob off grease so they only last 5000 km. Or do they do this on purpose so we will by new sleds every year or two. The e-tec is looking to be a great sled but the engine bottom end is still the same. BRP should put suzuki engines in there sleds.... I know that will never happen!

I want seat storage,,, of course power but thats a given,,

biggest thing I would like to see is a tuffer sled,, or a sled design that can bend a bit but parts are somewhat replaceble instead of a complete unit that bends all at once,, I am also no engineer so maybe this is not a option?

but I would take 15 extra pounds on my sled if it was 15% stronger for sure..or do i just wreck chit I dont know.
