Did you get it pulled apart Rowdy ? What actually let go? I don't see the fuel problem being stuck floats....it just wouldn't run, you would never have got it started the 2-3 times you did before it went. I'm not a doo guy per say, riden polaris the last few yrs but you should be able to rebuild the fuel pump VERY cheaply, and not have to purchase a new one.

Were you serious about "what do I use the flywheel puller on?"
If so, remove your recoil (pull starter), then the heavy peice of metal with the magnets in it is the flywheel, use the puller on that, make sure to used all three bolts to attach puller. After you pull that, you will be looking at your stator.

I will be in the city tommorrow after 5 and can prob pop over and give you a hand for an hour or two. give me a ring at 403-200-1561 Friday if you want

What is the flywheel puller used for? Sorry, can't tell on there. I thought I only needed the clutch tool to get the primary off.

I will be asking questions during install for sure! Will have two guys hopefully next week able to help me do the install...not sure though. Have to see if they are available. If your bored at your conference and want to come help...I supply beer and food... lol

be carefull when you unplug the wiring harness on the pick ups on the stator top and bottom have to go back on your new one the same way or it will not run draw a pic or write it down easy to forget when your installing on the one block;)

Well thats good to know at least I can do a quick fix if necessary on my fuel pump. Oh yeah, my kill switch also isn't working, haha. Don't know why not, probably something electrical I'll have to check out.

Yes I was serious about wtf is a flywheel puller, haha. Come on give me a break! :p I called the dealer where I'm getting the engine and they said that they would pull it for me and check over the engine to make sure I got everything off properly.

I will fire you a PM tonight. The shops down in the south east in Inglewood, don't want you going too far out of your way. I do have one friend coming over but he's never pulled an engine before.

Ok I will take a picture with my camera and use my amazing art skills to sketch something out as well so I don't forget. That's really good to know otherwise I wouldn't have any idea!

wow your sure busy on that sled lol, any pics yet?

no pics yet! I'm going to start photo documenting tonight everything thats happening. Make this post nice and long and intricate. :D

Man I love sledders...you guys are the most helpful bunch around. Love it!:d

when was this? i see an air bubble.

motor looks new?

That was in August. There was an air bubble. I sent the whole oil pump away to a guy in Michigan that rebuilt it for $75. Super nice guy.

Motor is supposedly new.

Thanks bhowes!!! The guys at Martins Motorsports said they'd pull it off for me when I get up there and take a look over the old engine to make sure I have everything I need off.

Appreciate the offer though! If you want to swing by anyways you're welcome to. I'm heading downstairs for 4 to start.

And waiting on my buddy with the clutch puller. Figured I'd post my progress. Everythings off I can get off till the primary is off and the engines out.

1.) Heat sealing parts into bags.
2.) working on pulling secondary off
3.) heat sealed baggies
4.) engine
5.) Me after I realized I had coveralls and a tank in my truck! lol

holy chit!!! thats awesome, i love how you packed and labled the bolts, i didnt do that, just threw them all in the tunnel bag, come to put then back in "hmmm, now where does this one go? i think it goes here" ....20minutes later...... "now where did i put this bolt"? .........trip to town...... engines all good to go...... "now i got all these extra bolts.... oh well i'll just cut a bit off these bolts and use them for my exhaust"

but now i still got some bolts left over.......

good job anyways, it took me 4 month to fo what you did in an afternoon

Making progress I see! keep us posted. Nice shop your working in and thats quite an idea there to put the parts in a sealed bag, most people just throw them in a pile then wonder where they go afterwords and have parts left over when the project is done. Now comes the fun part, digging into the motor to see exactaly what let go. Good luck!
