Just a suggestion from another forum user ( Thanks SW/BCR Wade ) Through txts some of us will get names from friends up there of people that have passed and out of respect for them and their families please refrain from posting them so that the families can be informed in a respectable manner and won't have to read it on the internet first.

Prayers go out to the families and the responders. This is a worst case scenario.

just talked to some guys that were up there the news reports are getting worse everytime ....

hopefully the numbers arent as bad as reports are saying they are

talking to family by phone now.. sounds like there were 50-60 at turbo when the slide happened. not the full group. my group were probing for over 2hours helping to find people.

BIG THANKS to those who took control of the situation. Sounds like some people kept there heads on tight asap and were organizing/teaching people how to use their equip so as to aid in the search.

the sleds were thrown everywhere.. many people stranded getting doubled down

CTV just did a phone interview with someone who was there. He said 50-60 sleds got hit. At least a dozen seriously injured, and three confirmed dead, no more beacon signals being found, dogs up there.

so one of my group had just made it over the top before the slide let go. apparently a guy tried the climb, got stuck, and a second sled went to help. but the 2nd sled that went to help cut up high around/above the stuck machine which triggered the avalanche.

Just got a few more texts from friends who are just leaving the cabin. They were there when it came down and have been searching.


Lots of people are still being sent down for the night. Its up to the professionals now I guess. Not much of anything positive, the entire town is on hold right now.

yea when my group left there was still one unaccounted for. said there were sleds and sled parts everywhere. But that they were searching very efficiantly and lighting fires to warm up the ones buried etc. a lot of snow fell. my dad's there w/ my sled and it was faced uphill so they left it in there escape and when they came back to it they could only see the tip of my windshield. there was a bombi parked on the hood (but on snow, there was that much) ! quite a lot of snow
