true. but the sole purpose of guns is to kill.

If you think that the sole purpose of guns is to kill, then you need a little more gun education. Guns can be used as a excellent deterrent. How many cops in Canada actually have to "kill" with their guns? My guess would be not many but they do provide excellent protection as well as a Deterrent against idiots who might want to try something funny. On a side note i shoot a lot of targets and clay pigeons with my guns, does that make me a killer?

go shoot one in Vegas or somewhere at a range and the smile on your face will tell me that you had a hoot! They are a lot of fun :D

Doesn't matter how I answer....your next post will accuse me of wanting a Soviet nuclear ICBM and wanting to suck back 3 bottles of tequila before getting behind the wheel of my surplus Abrams tank.

if you get that tank can i have a ride in it?

Why does anyone need anything other than food ,water and shelter? If someone wants one why not? The vast majority of legal owners commit zero crime. Explain to me why you need a truck that can exceed 110km/hr? Stats. prove you are more likely to get pissed and kill someone in your truck than a lawful gun owner is going to shoot somone.
Shooting sports are one of the safest, can you name another sport where you can get 5,000,000 insurance for $10/yr?

Maybe you need to do research on something you are going to critisize. we are not allowed full auto guns here. Unless you were grandfathered in or are a criminal and have one illegally. I used to target shoot alot. Havent gone out much in the last two years. I used to shoot about 10,000 rounds a year and enjoy it. Whether it be long distances up to 800m or 10m with my SEMIAUTO .45. Many people shoot as a sport. Like sledding or biking or any other sport out there a person should not be banned just because they prefer a different sled, bike or gun. But you dont seem to understand this, so I wont post anymore on this thread.

i have no problem at all with shooting sports, rifles, shot guns. or hunters either, just seems like a lot of peeps think they need ak47 style guns. can you explain why the fine fellow leaving the gun range out at penhold felt he needed more practice shooting his gun at a kids play house, just east of the gun range. i'm sure you came to his defense?

well then what is the problem, seems we are discussing a mute point, automatic guns are banned/ illegal etc, so we are discussing what? as far as banning sleds goes i'll let you lead that arguement.

A gun is a gun; a knife is a knife; they only become a weapon if some chooses to make them into a weapon. When does a stick, become a club?
Everytime someone bad does something bad, people want to ban things. In turn we all become victims, because we may loose something we enjoy or become restricted in the use of objects of enjoyment/pleasure.

Here is a crazy thought, how about making less laws, spend less on creating more rules (expessally on one we can't truely enforce) and spend more on the ones we have. Build more prisons, hire more police services and ban bad people. I know this is a cazy thought in our country, putting people in jail for actually breaking the law, may actually allow good people to enjoy themselves, feel safe, play with their toys and never have them to make their toys into weapons.

In my polluted mine is the venue, but the real question is how much of your freedom do you want to give away everytime a bad person is bad or just plain dum. Freedom has a very high price tag and is easily lost; how much do you want to spend today?

My rant for today

cool, your right we will never end crime, but i'm thinkin cutting access to these types of weapons will help. may not stop but easy access can be eliminated.
