so, just to keep it clear, i have nothing against hunting all for it, but if ya need a semi or fully auto what in hell are you doing. obviously your a lousy shot and all guns need to be taken away from you before you hurt yourself.

No one has a full auto except for the rare collector, educate yourself.
There are many hunting rifles that are semi auto also.
Because you don't like semi-auto you think everyone should be stuck with a singe shot rifle? How about a bolt action with a 10 round capacity? Is it safer than a semi with a mandated 5 round capacity? Why do you care what someone hunts with be it a bow or rifle?
As soon as you ban something you create a lucrative market for criminals. You think those guys shooting up TO bought at BassPro?
Over 500 people a year drown in Canada, should we ban pools??
2.4% of violent crime involves a firearm, your efforts would be better spent banning pokey things and clubs.

question on another thread peaked my interest. what is the freakin purpose of these things, target practice, hunting, or?

should be a gooder.

Here is an interesting write up to which I agree with. Hunting guns..... no problem but assault rifles get rid of them. Just my 2cents worth

Jason Alexander on Aurora

One, "automatic" guns are already on the prohibited firearms list which means you cannot purchase them if you dont have prohibited status on your PAL (Possession and Acquisition License). Two, Semi automatic firearms are available in many hunting formats as well. They allow for a quick follow up shot without re-adjusting your aim (very handy if you need to make a second shot if you missed the first time). As far as "assault rifles" go, that is a made up name that anti gun liberals gave to ARs because they thought that that's what AR stood for (Automatic Rifle in case you were wondering.) Now If i could hunt with an AR that would be fantastic, as the ergonomics of one is vastly superior to that of a standard rifle at close range. As far as the mass murder in Aurora, If they would allow more concealed carry's in the modern world we would have a lot less gun deaths. Here are two examples:

Florida senior with gun thwarts internet cafe robbery - Arlington Conservative | Examiner.com

Case and Point: Gun laws only take guns out of the hands of Honest, law abiding citizens. Criminals dont care how many laws you have.

Also whens the last time you heard a NRA meeting getting held up by gunmen?

don't want too burst the bubble ya live in, but alot of the semi autos don't take much to turn into full auto, at least what i've seen or read. red flame seems like they can do just about anything. maybe they're just faking it. if semi auto/ fuly auto weapons were not produced, then how ya think crimminals would get them, or be able to sell em. pools get serious dud! maybe ya should campaign for your right to drink and drive, and swim in yer pool drunk.

Hate to burst your bubble but any semi automatic firearm that can be turned into a full auto firearm or "modified full auto" is banned in Canada. And if any semi auto previously sold in Canada can been "modified" it goes on the prohibited list, where if you dont have a license, is either deactivated at your cost or confiscated by the RCMP and destroyed. Get your facts straight bud :)

so far the facts are straight, maybe reread the post, looks fairly easy to turn semi into a full was the jist. and u state criminals don't care about laws. if they are not available at all seems to be the only cure.

Everyone thinks that CC means that its a cowboy fest, it does not. Just because you have it does not mean you shoot it. The first thing they teach you if you conceal carry is that you have to confirm your target, if you cant you dont shoot. simple as that. All CC is, is a deterrent to criminals to try and use guns in public.

the exact same reason you carry a condom in your wallet or a auto glass breaker in your car. Being prepared. How does that saying go, I'd rather have it and not need it that not have it and need it.
