Apple TV, What to get.

If building new home or major reno..... Look into the control4 system.. Then just add apple airplay. These 2 options allow a person to have 8 TVs in one house able to view different programs on each tv. Control4 is a Internet based system so you have everything that you have on your computer on your tv.... Pretty cool.
Apple airplay allows you to wirelessly stream video, music, photos etc to the tv of your choice. Have this setup in our house and love it.

im not 100% sure but the picture quality on the apple 2 is as good as the hd channels on my telus sat

Then 300 and 250 for android versions of these

Worth the dough...which isn't a lot. Apple TV is the bomb for movies , TV shows. Seeing photos from your phone etc. pretty happy with mine!

I have a atv3 and just went looking for the solfware to do this... No luck even thou some say it can be done, but I don't think it can be done for free... Be nice to find a easy step by step procedure with free solfware to do it

The atv3 can't be done without some pita workaround. Hence why people are asking 3-4 hundred for the old ones. Supply demand

Well, I don't have anything right now.

Just netflix, and peasantvision.

I am sure there are some better ones and some that are basic. I think you might get what you pay for in this situation.

I didn't have time to read whole thread, but I'm a apple fan, always have been, may or may not always be, but I love my Apple TV 2. It's jail broken and I run a program called xbmc. I have canceled my cable, the only thing I'm missing is some sports but there are ways to make that work as well.

The only thing better then a jailbroken Apple TV is my setup in my basement. I have a Mac mini, it's about the same size as a Apple TV (little bigger but same shape), and it's a full computer. Much faster and better picture quality. But also $550. It's all about how much you want to spend.
I would stay away from android units as the build quality and performance isn't there. Pm me if you want any more info on my set up.
