Re: Sled Weights

Could you include your source?
Are those "wet" weights?

2010 Z1 Turbo Ext 628 lbs. dry
I don't think the 2012 would be gaining weight

Got this from the Swedish Cat site. The "Snoskoter 2012 Snabbfakta Sheet" :)

It lists the 2012 TZ1 Turbo LXR with a VIKT KG of 317 kg (not sure if that is wet or dry)

317 kilogram = 698.86537113lbs

Re: Sled Weights

Here are the weights of some of the new 2012's

M800 153" - -476lb
M800 SP 153" - - 474lb
M800 HCR 153" - - 470lb

M1100 Turbo SP 162" - -562lb

XF 800 SP High Country - - 456lb
XF 1100 Turbo SP - -548lb

F800 SP - -458lb
F1100 SP - -526lb
F1100 Turbo SP - -548lb

TZ1 - -644lb
TZ1 Turbo - -699lb

Weighed a 162 Apex a few years ago that as wet with out any gas and it was 637 LB . Digital scale hanging from hoist at dealer.
So i think Cat did a pretty good job with the weight if they stand up being 75 LB'S lighter and a four stroke.( if weight is correct)
Nice sled and will be nice to try one out. :d

you sure dont get offered much you get a snox front end mounted on an m series track wow what an improvement :wtf1: and the 1100 turbo is just the same z1 with a different color scheme and an mseries rear skid and tunnel... but wait didnt a bunch of aftermarket companies build this identical sled that cat is now offering as a production sled? just makes me wonder why cat has to come and copy everyone else the new m's look like new poo's and doo's and they made it more rider forward with more rigidity just like wait the doo's and poo's even there new sidexside looks like a polaris rzr way to go cat for the hype and lame delivery looks like I wont be going cat for another 7 years lol

i gata admit here i was pretty pumped to see the new cat sleds. Girlfriend told me she wants my old one and gave me the "ok" to get a new cat as i was talking alot about it. But after see the pictures/models/specs/etc i am not so hyped for some reason. I like the T4stroke and would love to make a move there but i seriously have a problem with an extra 100lbs over my doo. And the 2stroke version.... well my doo will still stomp that sled anytime. Let someone else be the dummy on the t4strokes and see what guys can do weight wise..... time will tell.

how come everyone on here compares the 4stroke sled weight of the new m1100 turbo to a xp ? makes no sense at all to me its like comparing towing capacity of a 1ton against a dakota

because alot of people ride much differently than point and shoot.

which is what the m8 is for...

Not too often I see a Maxwell post that makes zero sense, but come on now, I'm pretty sure Burandt and Rasmussen pretty well changed everything on a couple turboed M8's and although Burandt has moved on, I'd say money has a huge factor in that, Arctic Cat wasn't leasing him a 10,000acre pice of land just to have prime riding all the time... just saying;)

still doesnt make sense

u guys are all over the blahblah 570lbs of the 4stroke ?!!??!!?

ITS A GOD DAMN $ STROKE !!!! not a little 800xp

compare the 2012 m8 to your xp and than keep on talking

to make any more talk about the 1100 turbo all the yamaha guys should shirp in and give theyre feedback

just spend over 1hour reading all the blahblah you and other guys posted all day about this is heavy and that is ugly and this is to wide for my riding style (which i call BS) !!!!

without someone stepping up the game and building the first factory turboed mountain sled the competition for all the companies wouldnt be there cause cutting down the weigt of all the new sleds in every brand cant go to much further down since u always have to think about realibility and cost effective for production

jesus man chill out

my point is

the m8 is for one riding style

the 1100 turbo is for another

the weight difference determines that and you cant argue it

nothing wrong with a turbo factory 4 stroke i think its a huge step and very important to the industry.

i would have one if i could afford 2 as i waited for doo to release there 1200 and its not happening. iw ould buy this sled in a second but im on the poor end of the stick.
