The 850 has enough power, a 900 would just be a selling feature that's isnt needed yet. I think they should just up te power on the 850

honestly, i'd like to see Polaris really step up to the plate and start producing the new sporty performance oriented 4x4's....
look at Kawasaki, with there new 450 sport 4 x 4, the industry is going this way and can-am is leading the way... everyone will have to follow...
and will.. it take years for the public to reliese what true performance is. every thing that brp does to there quads is direct feedback from there heavy involvment
in racing... every thing that changes on there quads is race inspired... look at the new mustang boss and laguna versions... these 2 mustang's are totally developed
from the racing world.. for 2012.. to be sold to the general public, for heaven sake! i seen them when i was at SEMA in vegas last year being reveiled.. there is a show on speed thats called MUSTANG 302,, if not fimliar, then you should watch it and it will educate you on what these two mustangs are all about... shoot im not even a real mustang fan.. im a chevy guy but still very cool.

i mean this is only for the perforamance minded person... utility is still utility.. some throw the sport into there utility but still not true performance....
The new geomerty on the can-ams is sick... i have talked to 3 of the testers in the us already and things look pretty good...
the owner of my dealership i go to.. is thinking that they might have a 1000 rene after the August long already and i believe it will be a demo..
i will be taking the 1000 out as soon as it comes in for a weekend... i think i will get it for the sept long for 3 days... thats the plan.. whereever i go, some few lucky ones will have a chance to give it a try... but im respomsible for it.

If I rode, on open trails like where everyone one going last week in Alberta, I may just prefer a Can Am 800 Renegade. However, I said before if you want race I use my CR 500, I don't mix a lot of sport into my XP unless i'm fishing so this is the best bike for me, but i'm always power hungry, so for me, more is better and I hope they bring the power up. Polaris was great back in the 80's and 90's with their indy sleds. I wish they would get back into the competition too with some good race quads and bring back that Polaris edge they used to have. But their XP quad and side by side are are right in the deep of it. Actually there side by side has the most HP as it stands, have to see what that wildcat has. Adding a renegade style Polaris would be great. As it stands if I was going out with a quad to hit open trails, that 1000 is looking pretty good. But where I ride my XP has more edges covered for what I need a quad for. The the HP difference ain't enough to swing my vote to Can Am.

Say it was 20% faster..........

Here is a quote I found

"All 2012 models featuring the 850 engine receive a new airbox which is combined with new throttle bodies resulting in an approximate nine percent increase in power from prior years. With this new intake package, the 850 engine now delivers delivers 20 percent more acceleration off the line. This combination allows more air to the engine and results in a machine that accelerates faster, provides even more xtreme performance with a clean fuel burn while delivering incredibly smooth power across all RPMs. The power upgrade is available on the Sportsman XP 850 H.O., Sportsman XP 850 H.O. EPS and Sportsman Touring 850 H.O."

So if I change my airbox and throttle bodies, I am assuming I will turn my 2011 into an HO with 77 HP. That would be sic Now I need a price. Dealer said it won't be long before he can get a price.

Here's some deep research I uncovered:

The Outlander XT provides even more intuitive handling and control over the best-in-class power ATV. With new Tri-mode Dynamic Power Steering (DPS), you can adjust assistance level based on riding style and situation. It also includes heavy-duty bumpers and a winch. The revolutionary new Surrounding Spar Technology (SST G2) frame for a lower center of gravity, better handling and with fewer components.
