I’ll chime in for the clutching . I really enjoyed the lower engagement and it definatly pulls harder! I was seeing 58-63 mph while climbing WOT and rpm was maybe just a tad under 8750 it flat out worked and I’m very happy with it ! Thanks so much lund

How is the clutching, did it work for you?

I haven't been out yet, hopefully soon. But everything is still the same as last year where I was seeing mid 70 mph track speeds. I'm still on Thunder Product weights and after reading how everyone doesn't seem to like their profile I might buy some Dalton's too give a try.

Big improvement over the original set up?

I haven't been out either, was suppose to be out today but got company now for New Years.

It seem's i'm getting some of you guys mixed up. Lunch box, your running a tune, EVO 250, so not running my clutch set up.
While Andrew is with the stock tune and re'calibrated his clutching to my set up.
The question was meant for Andrew and i was wondering if it was working for him.

That's correct Lund, I'm on the Evo stage 4 tune. You helped me last season understand the whole clutching setup and what to do to get the most out of the tune.

Yep stock tune for me with Cr straight pipe. Sure pulled good for a stock sled! And the 850 doos I was with were definatly not pulling hills as fast as I was. I didn’t mind how the bottom end was and I did like the lower engagement! Clutches were warm could put both hands on them . Seemed to work really really well! And I’m very happy with how that setup worked!

Hey guys,
my google-fu is weak today, or I'm just having a case of the stupids? Can you please refresh me on this clutch combo for stock-ish sleds? I dug through some threads but couldn't find the gold.
thanks in advance and hail 'Winder! :D

Changed from the stock 8kc weights to Lund’s recommendation of the 8LR00 weights loaded up to 73g

Also secondary clutch setting to 3-3 60 degrees

This will lower your engagement to 3100 from 4100 and it will feel like you added some boost. Pulls hard . I really like to mid range and lower rpm for tree riding and technical stuff it just worked for me ! But the top end was awesome. Rpm was pretty much perfect Aswell! 8750 sometimes a little less. And I saw over 60mph track speeds! 63 to be exact . In 2 feet fresh snow in valemount .

As mentioned above by Andrew, these are the number's i saw all last season. IMO the best clutch set up for a stock SW.
I spent all last season playing with the Sidewinder clutches with the stock tune so i could maximize the power and clutching before installing the power up tune.
If your running on a stock tune there is no reason why you should not get solid 60++mph of track speed, this sled will do it all day long.

I have this clutch set up so tight to maximize track speed and power with stock tune that i believe when i install the power up 225hp all i will need is a secondary spring swap out.
Andrew, like i said it is set up to maximize the clutch weight/power. If your finding in certain condition your a little short on RPM's you can drop a couple grams at the tip. This will make your set up more universal on a wider range of condition's for the stock tune.
But in most all condition's, especially with the pipe, your good to go.

I to really like the lower engagement for tree riding...easier to get moving. I am planning on swapping back to the stock weights when we’re are out for 2-3 days in a row to compare.

You need to be aware, posting such a video may cause an unrest and riot in the 2 stroke arena and may get you banned.
Plus don't you know, teasing the little boys with man candy will get you into trouble.

PS, awesome, 270 rocks.
Hahah, ohh well, not my first time ruffling feathers.... wont be the last.

How many times have you been hit with the ban hammer?

Hard to break the habit of constantly blipping the throttle I see. Lol. I do it too but try not to. Hard on belts at 200+ HP.

Ya, i laugh every time i see the dudes do that, especially in the parking lot. Pretty much every day i go out i see it.
Be willing to bet they have no idea why blipping the throttle became a habit with 2smokers.

Blipping the throttle came from the carburetor day's, but was only a mountain thing and not flat land. The reason had to do with carb jetting as you jetted your sled to ride elevation and when you rode the trail back down or up you either rode with the choke partially opened or blipped the throttle to help prevent a lean burn.
I guess dudes forgot why we did it or copied their elders as the thing to do, because its cool.
Today with EFI, blipping the throttle serves no purpose other then trying to be cool. Its actually not good for your belt or clutch.

How true the constant throttle thing . Wonder why clutch , belt chain and other things are wore out and don’t last ? Lol

Had to do it on flat land sleds as well back in the day. Stock engines not so much but it depended on the jetting.
