So after going through the build process sever times I am seeing that apples to apples, 165 3", both with shot, the expert is $800 more than an X. Now for that extra $800 all I'm seeing is the extra low riser for all you under 6' fellas, fancy kashima coated shocks, adjustable limiter strap and hand guards. Am I missing something? Seems that they narrowed the gap significantly between X and Expert and I'm not sure it's worth the extra coin. I'd be tempted by a Freeride if it wasn't such a light colour, side panels will be black with exhaust and belt dust after 500km.

Even though the pic doesn't look like it, the X is priced with the turbo, which should be obvious by the price.

To be honest I’m not going to even consider the new turbo till doo comes with more power from it. 165 consecutive horsepower is cool but you can a left overs for about 12 to 14 and add a turbo kit.......

It looks like you priced a 175 in your top pic? 175 is only available in a turbo expert model this year.

Moved this over from the other 'ready for turbo' thread

Just did a comparison build on the skidoo canada site.

Summit X Turbo, Black, 165 3" short tunnel, shot start. $19,849 CND (plus pdi and freight of course).
SUmmit X Turbo w/expert package, 165 3" short tunnel, shot start (inc), $21,149 (plus pdi and freight)

$1300 price difference between the two. Expert package included extra's 1)Shot start ($250 add on to the non expert), KYB front, HPG center, KYB Pro 36 rear shocks, Remote limiter strap adjuster ($350 add on to the non expert). Math works out to $700 shock upgrade. How much could a guy get for the shock take-offs and then upgrade to fox?
Oh, and the colour upgrade on the expert (Black/Grey/Red) is $250. Colour upgrade on the non expert (Blue/White) is $500.

Apples to apples - $750.00
165 x 3" naturally aspirated with shot start and a skid plate.

Not sure I could justify the cost difference for the light hood and other differences on the Expert. 6 lbs on the lightweight hood = $125.00 / lb.

I also like how you technically get less sled on the expert package soooo you would think it should be about the same price. I just wish I would have ordered my sled in a 165 and 3” paddles

You don’t want blue with plastic panels .
Like the colour , but as soon as you stress them the stress area goes white .
You can heat with heat gun and will bring it back some but still not all the way .
Been down this road before on a couple sleds .

the blue XP/xm panels were like that. I havent found the new G4 blue panels to do this. Not sure why.

Cool
As this was the case on other brands as well for marking .
Wonder if dealer would be pissed if a person took one and bent it ?

Was thinking about the same thing. Still have a 2010 Blue Summit & and Yamaha front fender that are riddled with white marks.

Yup same here. I was sitting at the pre-release with a grand in hand and 2 minutes into the video I was speechless. 165hp? huh? I told the dealer "nope", this is not cost effective for less than 4000 feet for me.

IF BRP follows the pattern of hp increase, (4~5hp per 4 model years) THEN it will be 165hp for 2020, 21, 22, 23 [4 model years], then 5hp increase on the 4th year. So say it will be 170hp at model year 2024.

BUT...this is a big "BUT"....
...I bet on model year 2024, there will be the G5 chassis and an electric summit. Battery powered 165, electric powered, whatever you want to call it. Im willing to bet $5.00 that at model year 2024 there is a BRP powered electric summit.
