Makes a guy wonder why they ditched the mount for the spare belt. I was thinking about sticking mine there as well, but now I'm second guessing.

I wouldn’t worry about it at all.
It’s going to get a lot hotter once it’s installed.
My boosted m1000 never left a mark on a belt and the pipe pretty much sat on the belt.
I think Cat is just saving pennies here and there so ya gotta supply your own tool kit and Velcro or zip ties.:)
If you look at my picture it is clear of the pipe by 1 1/2”.

Ya there's probably a lot of truth to that.

I have stuff to put on the can side, so I'm trying to avoid it this time.

Looks great! I really like this

Carrying spare drive belt next to pipe looks heat could be an issue but never personally tried.
There should be no issue with carrying belt as shown here in this picture.
There is a lot of cold air coming in through the front vent straight to the belt.
I keep my spare belt and belt drive belt in tunnel bag wrapped in shrink wrap to keep any greasy foods from getting on belts.

I have carried one there for over 2000km with no issues.

Same with others that run out of the same dealership as me.

I doubt you will see any issues.

I can’t see having issues either,on my TM1000 the pipe was a lot closer to the belt on cover than this sled and I never had a issue with that.

When you say no issues you mean visually or have you actually put the belt on and run it and had it last quite awhile?

My old TM1000 was with me for years, never was a belt burner.
I never had any issues ever with a Cat belt.
For a while I had the cover off the pipe and still never cooked a belt.
