2019 HD ram - 1000 ft lbs

Ya you can get 20% off the truck doesent matter what brand it is you just need to have some negotiating skills and a understanting of how the system works. I payed $71,500 for a POS 2018 ram 3500 dually mega cab with every option you can get brand new, the year before I payed $68,500 on a High Country 3500 Dually with every option. This year I payed $81,500 for a 2018 F-450 had to trade the ram because they wouldn't fix the issues.

Story of why the ram is a piece of garbage. Rear end made a horrible noise so bad people could not even sit in the rear seat in my truck made numerous trips to the dealership changed countless parts still didn't fix the issue FCA Canada responded with this is normal for this truck ya sure it is. Also the front headlight gap was 3 times what it should be on one side of the truck again ram said this is normal dually fenders where starting to pull away from the body ram said they would look into it but I was told that this is not a warranty item. This truck was a 2018 with 25,000 k on it so ram could come out with a flying truck and I would not go anywhere near it. It is a shame because I do really like the trucks and this new one looks awesome but with the way FCA treated my first case I wont be ever purchasing a Fiat product again. Just thought I would share my story.

I know people who have had the entire rear axle assembly replaced because of that noise.

Like anything else the quality of the service department is important.

That’s crazy to think 35,000lbs/15,900kgs. I have a holiday trailer that weighes 14,000 lbs, could never think of hauling something twice that weight.

Hauling that kind of weight with a semi you notice how much longer it takes to stop. These units rolling on a 22.5 rim so you can fit a bigger brake?

I've hauled around 20k behind my '16. I feel it stopped very well. Triple axle trailer with electric over hydraulic brakes adds a lot of stopping power. In all honestly though, I don't use the brakes all that often towing. I give myself enough room to slow down with downshifts and the engine brake.

At 35k, you're likely going to be pulling a triple axle dual, and they have a decent amount of stopping power. We have one that gets pulled behind a baby single axle kenworth, and I've never felt like it was lacking stopping power, even loaded up to 30,000kgs combined.

this is the dyno chart on my 2011 6.7 Cummins.

take into account that this at the wheels where it actually matters. I would imagine that all the manufactures ratings are at the crank.

I'm not bashing anyone, just putting out the facts. The fact is that I rarely run my truck in that RPM range when driving down the highway, towing or empty. So as nice as that chart is it mean SFA when going down the highway. The true test of which truck is more powerful would be to line them up side by side hooked to identical loads and accelerate them up a mile long 13% incline.

I thought it was funny haha. I am mainly trolling myself. I’ve had two Ram’s and found them incredibly rough as a daily driver and used to tow a substantial load. I moved to GM. Still like the Ram’s as well tho.

I found my 3500 ram to ride better than my 2500HD Chev. With any change to the torsion bars on the GM it became harsh so limited to stock settings. The coils on the Ram even being heavier rear spring made for a nicer ride in my experience. The GM I tried Bilstiens valved from Cognito and it kinda helped on the rebound. Both trucks I ran rear bags just for load leveling/headlight aim purposes. Really the 2509 Ram with coils in all four corners is a nice truck if you don’t need any payload but doesn’t work for me.

A bit off topic... I found the ride on my 2016 3500 to be pretty decent, even compared to my old power wagon. There was no denying it was a heavy duty truck though. It was especially evident when I'd hop in to a half ton with one of my guys. I went and put a Thuren tuned suspension with 2.5" King reservoir shocks on my truck. No real lift. Just 1/2" lift front coils, shocks, track and sway bars. New leafs are still to come. It is pretty darn comfy now for daily driving, although the rear can still feel a little harsh. It really shines once the roads get rough though. I can run 100km/hr on a whooped out dirt road, and the suspension just absorbs it. I don't regret the $4k pricetag at all.

Towing and payload are two different things. I prefer to have the payload for deck and sleds. If I was only towing a heavy trailer I would stay with a 2500. So can’t “haul” anything is hardly descriptive in your assumption.

And as far as the 400hp/1000ft pounds, how many guys delete and tune their trucks? GM guys I think have to have a 5 position EFI live or they feel ashamed about it. I see lots of guys deleted, tuned, whatever else and they arent hauling anything except their Airdrie wives.

In the halfton it is tough to tell it is shifting, rpm stays right in the peak torque band.

I think these 10 speeds will be really good for heavy duty applications.

Won't be hard to find the right gear for any application.

And I would agree with you on that. Doesn’t matter what brand , if someone gets a product like that with no backing they should move on and never come back.
I bought a Ford when I was 19. By no means new. But it gave me so much trouble that I haven’t purchased or liked Ford ever since.
Like others have said. Buy what u like and fawk the rest.
I love my dodge. Ya it’s so old it’s still called a dodge. But it doesn’t cause me issues. So I keep driving it.

My experience is different. I have found most of the posers and wannabe's with the well fed wives and jacked up annoyingly loud Fargo's seem to be more prevalent in Calgary. 6 inch lift , 35 in mud tires, to pull their wake board boat with giant hanging speakers down the pavement to Shuswap to float around the lake and get in the way of the skiers and wake boarders.
