Well all the new updates on these machines is unbelievable. I was very sceptical about some of the features and how the machine would handle. I rode the 165 yesterday for about 40 min or so In low visibility in varying snow depths from 2-4’. The new track seems to work a little better than the current 3.0 pitch. The power delivery seems the same as the 18’ that I was riding.
I figured that the track being so flexible it would wash out easily. Boy was I wrong. It seems to not only hold a sidehill better it recoverers from a hard carve easier than I thought. The transition from side to side in the tight trees was very nice, even though I thought it would be a fight from being so “tippy”
On the trail it handled really good I heard. It wasn’t tracking all over it seemed to handle the same as a conventional twin rail suspension.
Down hill descents trough tracks it seems to hold straight and not dart when crossing tracks. Like the brp units tend to do.
The new handle bar controls are spot on. Very nice to see a factory tether.
The new skis seem the same other than the grip on the top of the ski.
In my opinion the alpha is a great step up.

Anybody know if any dealers in Southern Alberta have one to look at or is there a tour?

Easy 500km put on each machine so far in 2 days. No problems no belt issues or track wearing concerns that I could see at the end of the day today.

Only thing that was a problem was the permagrin after the riders come back.

Going in to a room full of Rachel and Justin pictures should help ease the peragrim. Effects may be temporary and return when placed on or near the Alpha.

Sounds like a plan to me. We are going to scout it out for you on Saturday. To see if it’s adequate snow levels for you

Made it Valemount without an incident. Was looking like I wasn't gonna be able to make it. Work called last night while I was loading the sled wanting me to come in. told them if they couldn't find someone else then I would come in. Dogged that bullet. Come this morning the garage door was jamming up trapping truck and sled in the garage. Drove out to Climina parking lot and no easy way to off load the sled. Late enough in the day so I decide to check into my room and pour myself a Gibbies. No point in tempting fate. Last time I did I ended up with broken ribs. Hopefully tomorrow is worth the wait
