IMG_2873.jpg The one thing I loved about this skid is the lack of snow/ice build up in the skid. I dropped into some trees with good snow and that’s what it looked like after. I was playing in the same area with my pro and it had at least 60-70lbs of ice and snow in the skid. The alpha did make some weird noises out of the rear wheels when pulling **** hooks but it was a very predictable sled to ride.

I’d buy one but I didn’t see much difference between the pro and alpha I loved it. Mind u it was a prototype and would only hit 7700 rpm but very easy to ride. My pro is a 13

They only run at 7800 I was told. Wife’s 18 same engine runs at 7800 also

You want to see 8250 to 8300 rpms for best performance I put
cutler adjustable in my 18 cat so I could be at the right rpms
at all different elevations

rode the alpha in revy snowchecked one so did every doo rider
in our group 2019 gonna be a lot of alphas out there

Incorrect, 8100-8150 is about perfect for a stock 800 ctec, leaving alot on the table at 7800rpm, mine consistently is 8100 at 6800-7000' of elevation, stock other than a speedwerx can

Give rory at Shuswap extreme a call he will advise you on correct rpm even the old
800 motor was 8200 so you are leaving power on the table new c-tec 8250
- 8300

Easy 500km put on each machine so far in 2 days. No problems no belt issues or track wearing concerns that I could see at the end of the day today.

Only thing that was a problem was the permagrin after the riders come back.

500 km in 2 days ? Between switching riding and screwing around I find that hard to believe that’s 3 tanks of fuel a day

I may have to do that, I never realized there was more to be had, was told it was supposed to rev lower than the suzuki, I knew the old 800 was around that 8250 mark, my 14 with a speedwerx stage 2 was around 8300-8350, but that was with custom mapping

7800 is a little low. The shift rpm is 8150 so any where between 8000 and 8250 is where the engine makes the most power. On the dyno sheets I read the 800 C-tec was down from peak 1.5 hp at 8300, not a big deal but I wouldn't want to go any higher. Before you start changing anything I would verify the tach for accuracy, if it's off it wouldn't be the first one iv'e seen. The other thing is to make sure its completely broke in, depending on how its been heat cycled that could take 500 miles (800 kms) or more. The break in mode on the machine is there for protection of the engine for the first 6 hours, after it's off does not mean the engine is fully broke in.

1 1/2 tanks per day is what they used. I supplied fuel the first day in revy. Took 6 gal outta my machine for them.
