I've attempted the same drainage prior to the rino days, just turned back when it started getting ugly. Garmin riino may seem like an expensive investment at first but here's a good example on how it could of helped you and saved you a hell.

Side note how's the snow been last couple days?

does the rino have a topographical map? kinda like Google Earth that shows the physical properties of the land?

We have 2 in our group on Friday and 4 on Saturday and Sunday. If you have a radio and all the Avalanche gear you are welcome to ride with us. PM me if you want to meet up. We are both intermediate riders might ride blue Friday.

Allen today was good. Hard to say how deep. 18" on the conservative side.

Anyone here anything about a slide in vale today, I heard someone had a close call

Its been an amazing weekend of riding after the most recent reload. But yes, there have been reports of a few close calls.

The winds have picked up and moved snow a lot of snow around created reactive windslabs on leeward features.

We have credible reports from as north as the Renshaw and as south as Allen Creek of close calls and near misses due to this condition.

Play safe out there. Make conservative terrain choices and enjoy the ride.

Just a reminder of VARDA's avalnache awareness night this Thursday at the Best Western Valemount beginning at 630pm. Presentations from Avalanche Canada representatives, draws, 50/50, cash bar etc
