In 2010 or 2011 I think, don't quote me, Chrysler updated the torque converter on the 68rfe to handle the 800 ft-lbs of the then H.O. with some other internal mods. Basically the same trans. just a few upgrades.

I personally would go with the 2013 or even a 2014, as other have said, they use urea (and this is a GOOD thing) and much better fuel economy because of it. Reason why? To meet emissions with the noX absorber that Cummins developed (which I was told was NOT nearly as efficient as it was marketed), the engine HAD to run a very aggressive cooled-EGR cycle to keep the cylinders cooled enough to the point noX wasn't being produced as much. With that the engine wasn't in it's peak operating temps, which meant it was very inefficient. (Hence why deletes work so well on them.)
Adding urea has solved that issue, no more inefficient noX absorber, no more aggressive use of EGR, just a dozer valve just before the converter (or whatever it's called) then the DPF. Which in turn helped FiatChrysler greatly extend the oil change interval on the new trucks.
Remember the C&C have had urea since the beginning as emissions was stricter for that class of vehicle.

After ya do one egr delete your self a guy will never understand the benefit of recirculating that crap back into your engine. 13s seam hard to find with the Aisin tranny, so that tells me something hence the great deals on the 12s I would guess! It's a tug a war between being able to chip and rebuild a tranny. Or not chip and run 385hp tops.

Bought a 2012 pick it up next week maybe. Whats everyone doing for tuners? I had H&S mini on my last truck and worked great. But I heard they dont do the same things? I couldnt justify the price of a 13 plus I found it rode rougher and WTF is up with that stupid "no gas cap" thingy?

The no gas cap thing looks like it will be a problem with dirt and road grime and snow getting In the fuel tank

That could be the dumbest engineering marvel I’ve seen since the Pontiac fiero!

The no gas cap thing is fine I've had it on my Ford Raptor for two years and no issues and it sees dirt roads every day. Ya sound like a bunch of old geezers complaining about technology lol

Ford trying to save money again? Like way back when they had the tail pipe exit before the right rear tire and the exhaust discolored all the wheels
Stupid idea I would think

Yup, salesman tried telling us..."well if you have a boat your exhaust won't go in the water, keeps the engine from stalling. It's a good thing...."

Overkill are you going to do the Dpf and egr delete right away or wait for the warranty to expire?
i have been debating myself to do it now or wait till at least the power train warranty is done at 100k

ASAP last time I waited and regretted it. Once ya open that EGR up you'll be glad ya did it. But that said there's tons of trucks that don't and there still running.

The 2013 dodge I saw had tons of dirt and water sitting it. Glorious technology young fella!

Probably getting a 13 2500 Cummings here shortly, first time with a diesel so pretty excited, would rather have urea over just a burner. not sure about the no gas cap thing though, makes it too easy for dirt and water to get and for damn kids to put stuff in there. The interior i think is pretty sick.
