Rolled 1000 yesterday without any major issues

2 minutes later, proceeded to smash my bumper in, and blow up my belt :D

now have a sexy yellow bumper and swapped in my spare new belt ! (what a pain in the ass swapping bumpers was)

How do you guys get 2000-5000 km out of a belt !? mine seemed to go right at 1000 mark ! and I always let it cool off after riding hard for a while, always check and adjust my belt height, frequently clean my clutches and belt ..

didn't really blow up, but started to fray so I swapped it out...

I was told the grill kit would extend the belt life as it stops any snow from getting on the clutch. Both my front and back bumper look like that. It did not take much of a hit to bend them.

Any tips on replacing the front bumper? Pull Hood, then what? Pull pipe?

I f*@#$cking hate rivets .. everything else is cake .. but drilling out rivets drives me nuts !!! I almost didn't re-rivet the new bumper so I won't have to deal with them again

my belt is just fraying a bit .. was thinking about using it again and cutting the cord that's come out..

Im at 750 on my XM and I noticed my belt cords were fraying a bit as well, I trimmed and kept riding. It was fairly hot though.

My belt blew today at 825km. Clutches were so hot they burnt my hand when I was pulling the old belt out. We were putting on some fairly hard miles the last couple days.

Mine's at 750km. Belt started to fray at 700km. Not sure whether it was my fault of not letting the clutch/belt cool down when we were riding in waist deep snow this past thursday.

Just curious did you have the vent screen kit on?
And the stock cvt cover?
Did you have any extra venting in the panels?

mines at 1070 km and belt seems fine. Going to check it tonight but when ever I clean my clutches I wash my belt with dish soap and hot water. just helps with belt life.

My XM rolled over 1000 km today also... original belt looks great still. About 400 km of mountian riding and the rest here around Whitecourt. Have not even gone through two 4 liter jugs of oil yet... I love this E-tec!!!

As far as venting and the cvt cover its bone stock LBZ. The dealer was certain that I would have zero heat issues, needless to say i will be installing some extra vents.

I believe LBZ is referring to the pre-filter screen kit to cover the holes in the nose. Without it, snow will get in and your clutch will be wet. I noticed it when I was swapping my belt that the foam on the panel is soaked.

I will have to look into getting a pre filter kit. I have noticed there's a pile of ice in the front at the end of the day.
