So the stock shocks on my king are absolute garbage and I want to swap them out for something a little nicer. I know Elkas and Fox are an option but is there something out there that is decent and isn't as pricey? I'm sure the old saying "you get what you pay for" applies quite well here...

Not worth it. My cousin works for Yamaha in Red Deet and I asked him about the same thing and he said it's bot worth it. You won't get the money back when you sell it. Not many people are looking for a big bore 4x4 for nice smooth ride.

don't think he is considering selling at this point, looking for better shocks for improved ride. could always put old shocks back on when selling and sell new shocks.

I havnt tried it but have heard of some guys installing shocks off of yfz 450 racing quads and they are supposed to work good on kings.

I've thought about just cutting my losses and upgrading to a can am 800mxr since that quad has everything I want done from the factory. But at the end of the day I'd have to cough up 7k at least to do that and I'm not at that point yet. I've got a fair bit into my king already (vdi, m109r injector, clutch kit, tires, twin air filter kit, full skidplates, warn bumper). All I need for it now is snorkels and better shocks. A little bit cheaper than a new quad lol.

The yfz shocks idea sounds what I'm looking for. I'll have to look around ft a set of takeoffs or used ones if I go that route.
