    aluminum vs steel trailers

If enclosed, go steel main hitch & frame, then sides & top aluminum. My boss has his like that, it's 6 years old & looks like new. Open deck, go aluminum... mines steel & every 2 - 3 years it needs repainting & to get a real good job done you have to remove the decking, which can be a pain, even...

    temperature fluctuations

I have a 06 Cummins, that is where mine has run right from new so I wouldn't worry about it. If it climbs up over a 100 when towing in hot weather or a long pull, then you may have a issue. Last year I went over the Coquihalla pulling my holiday trailer, grossing out close to 14,000 lbs & the...

    Mudflaps, boxes and liners

Line x did mine the summer of 2006, cost was $500.00 over the rail, still looks like new. Spend the extra money & get the real good heavy rubber flaps $150.00 - $200.00 for 2 sets, but please don't be a punk & leave the stainless steel off of them, harder than heck on the eyes when following...

    How did we ever survive.

So these are not so bad, but i'll tell it anyways. Every x-mas most all of the immediate family would come out to the farm & we would have enough kids for 2 hockey teams plus a couple spares. We played with a hard puck, no helments, no padding, except if you were a goalie you went to your sock...

    How did we ever survive.

Riding on the Stone boat ( at the age of 11), tried to jump to the tractor, fell got wedged under the front of the stone boat & drug for what seemed a eternity before my grandfather looked back & finally saw me. Of course, after he pulled me out & made sure i had no broken bones ( just some...

    How did we ever survive.

Hmmmm, where do i start.... riding a petal or motor bike without helmut. Riding a petal bike down the big hill to the river flats using your shoe as a brake (the road down was like riding on cobblestones).Climbing up a 75' to 100' black poplar to the point where you start to tip sideways because...

    Lift Axle Semi Trailers......interesting read

Teeroy tells it right. And another factor is if you have a 40,000 lb. tri-axle trailer running empty with 1 axle lifted you will still have adequate braking power, 2 axles lifted i would say is stupid. Same if you had a 40,000 lb. tandem axle trailer & lifted 1 axle, you do not have sufficient...

    Chaincase oil

Agree with Dave, i have been using the 75/90 synthetic oil for 6 years now, less filings on the plug than when using chaincase oil & everything is showing good signs (no abnormal wear on the chain & gears is what i mean).
