Just wondering if anyone has had one of the BRP tunnel bag backpacks? I bought my '10 summit 154" last year and want to put a tunnel bag and a fuel caddy on. Just wondering if these backpacks are any good and will there be enough room with the fuel caddy?

I HAVE BOTH ON MY 09 AND THEY WORK GREAT. lOTS OF ROOM FOR TOOL POUCH, SPARE BELTS AND I EVEN HAVE A BIVVY SACK IN THERE IN CASE I EVER HAVE TO SPEND THE NIGHT. tHE FUEL CADDY IS GREAT TO WITH THE BASE, YOU DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT TIE DOWNS OR BUNGY CORDS FOR A SMALL GERRY CAN.

a small tent that looks like a cacoon. Mountain climbers use them high up altitude it keeps the wind off you and helps reduce hypothermia etc. Mec carries them,:)

How is the mounting hardware? It looks like it is simple. I'm not a fan of stuff banging around behind me scratching the crap out of everything.

Got to be honest I found them to be to big for what I need. And I did not like the straps mounted on the side of the tunnel. I like it being bolted straight to the tunnel, that way when I hit the tree it does not break any of those straps off. I don't know if that would ever happen but if it did it sure would be a pain in the ass for riding.

a quick note about MEC. They hate us sledders. They use the money they make from us to shut down the back country to us. It isn't even something they try to hide, just ask them.

I was there 5 years ago looking at a wall of socks. This little non-heterosexual punk walks up and says " can I help you?"

I tell him that I am looking for socks for my daughter so her feet don't get cold when we go snowmobiling.

He said " we don't like sledders here" and then walked away. I could have killed the little punk but I think it is better to just hurt them financially by telling the story.

I have heard some mixed reviews about the BRP Tunnel Backpack. I know the dealership I deal with did quite a few warranty zippers last year. It's a good thing they're standing behind their product but still a pain in the A$$ that the zippers are failing.

I've had a fuel caddy on my sled for 2 seasons now. I think they're great they fit like a glove every time. I know some guys have had trouble putting the tie down brackets out from the holder rails. This makes it difficult to get everything hooked back up if covered with Ice or snow as the strap is just long enough at the best of times! Another thing; I've heard rumors about guys bending their tunnels on XP's mounting the fuel caddies at the end of 154 and 163 beaver tails.

Yeah, lots of weight out at the end, was going to mount it next to the seat, not sure if thats an option with the bag or not.

I had a 08 154 xp and had both on there. I put the fuel caddy right behind the seat then the bag. Worked great , never lost anything or broke anything. In the mountains i wear an avypack so my BRP pack would stay on the tunnel with the caddy and it always worked excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to do the same combo again.

Same here as with mitty26, have the gas can behind the seat just far enough away to allow the cover to fit on & then the pack behind that. 1 year on it so far & no problems.... well maybe just 1 - MAKE SURE YOU PUT YOUR LUNCH IN THE TOP POCKET & YOUR EXTRA WATER IN THE BOTTOM:( :)

my buddy bent his tunnel first ride as he mounted at end of 163" tunnel like the diagram shows. BRP covered new tunnel under warranty as it bent because the bolts on the rail came off and there was no support.

I am finding with the caddy behind the seat, the bag rides up on the tail light at the back, does anyone have pics of their setup?
