I use a ball hone on all my rebuilds or when changing to a fresh set of pistons, I was told you wanted a nice cross hatch for the purpose of helping the rings seal. It doesn't take very long if the cylinders are in good shape, maybe 20-30 seconds a jug.
I could be wrong, maybe with all these...
No worries! I only installed the Tunnel stiffeners and the Bulkhead brace behind the can on my Revs for the same reason others have stated. However I'm not a jumper/stunt guy. I'm just a little on edge about getting my eyes poked out every time a guy tries to offer a suggestion on here lately...
The one brace I put on all the Revs I owned was the RH Tunnel Stiffener or Mag Brace 518 324 096 if it didn't already have that brace/stiffner when I purchased the sled.
Unfortunately you haven't seen the effects the weight of a larger rider can do on a snowmobile. If I may, I think Rowdy is looking into these braces/brackets to strengthen the Chassis for "hitting it Big".
Thanks for the correction about front end collisions!!! that must be why BRP has them all...
I wanted to ask why you thought the extra bracing was required in the first place?...
You weight a lot less than this fatguy and I never required these braces on either of the Revs I owned. If you have some huge cliffs you plan on dropping off of or plan on getting into stunt jumping then maybe...
Modman has some awesome suggestions that I would swear by for folks that want to rent... very good!
the days are way too short in Dec, Jan, and even early Feb to spend $300.00 a day for a rental (IMHO). I've rented from Vinnie at Alpine country rentals more than once and he is a straight up...
Here is a link to Joeys gearing calculator.
Gearing Calculator
Not that your looking for the final answer given in MPH but it kinda gives a person some idea what a couple changes can/should do.
What's got you thinking gearing come mid-June.... The current gearing didn't really seem to be...
Defiantly a trade with a high demand, it also has a lot of different options to branch out into or specialize in.
If tractor/trailer units float your boat you could get a job at a dealership as stated or at many transport/hauling operations
Or you can do the off highway thing repairing...
I don't think wet cedar has been mentioned yet.
I love the smell of walking out onto my deck in the country the morning after a good rain and smelling the wet Cedar.
As mentioned before the following smell awesome as well:
Burnt Nitromethane at the track
Burnt VP U2 race fuel (I also love it...
Split Second in Valleyview has had a 1300cc ish twin and a 2000cc tripple around for a few years now.
One of the Mechanics at Stojans (lives in Sexsmith) has built a couple 1200cc tripples and has been trying to run one in his XP drag sled for three years now.
I would like to have any of these...
Sorry Boss!!!
I only made the comments based on the issues I've seen with another large aftermarket motor locally built that has crazy power and twists chassis and eats drivers/tracks like a mid-morning snack.
Thanks for poking my eyes out, I'll go away now:beer:
