Just to point out the LinkedIn bio you posted has Terence as a biomed intern, and currently working as a Member Services Rep at Planet Fitness. So the lady/thing talking on the news is only an intern, and also answers phones at Planet Fitness. Seems a bit odd. Er maybe there actually is a...
Thanks for the ideas fellas. Seems like there are logical DIY options out there.
And revbyu thanks for the offer. I may send you a PM closer to the time. I’m out of town with work for the next couple weeks so likely an early December thing at soonest.
Reviving the dead here... I’m about to install a DJ kit in my 800 XM and wondering about tools for the secondary. Really trying to avoid spending $200 on tools for one use. Could I not run a piece of 4’ threaded rod through the jack shaft to keep the secondary together while releasing the helix...
When there’s no signal coming from a wheel it triggers a system fault like what you’re seeing. Shops can check for a signal from each wheel to determine which one is dead but if one is dead the others are likely close behind.
What year is that thing. No OBD2 port under the dash? If so any old OBD2 reader can tell you what code it triggered and clear the codes. Then search the vehicle and OBD code online to get the most likely causes.
Or yes unplug the battery for a bit and clear it that way. If it comes back get a...
My XM does the same. Seems to do it more often in warm temps which had me thinking fuel pump. I’ve done all the same things you’ve done except fuel pump... so guess I won’t spend money on that now lol. In Maxwell’s troublesome XM thread he’s saying plug wires fixed it. Different problem in that...
Hey Aaron, do you know if it’s a BUDS calibration thing or what? I found a used cluster, identical to mine just off a 2014 vs my 2013. Everything lights up when I start the sled but after the startup procedure the dash part goes blank. Tach and speedo work fine though. Dealer kinda looked at me...
Ah good to know! The XP and XM ones do look the same in pics so I had wondered that. Opens up a couple more options for used. But still pricey.
Now to decide if I gamble on the cheap one and frankenstein my original or get a used XP one
Anyone ever have to replace a speedo/gauge cluster on an XM? I smashed the screen on mine and am having a really tough time finding a used one. Dealer wants a fortune new.
Looking at part numbers they’re almost all different... does that mean even if I found a used one it might not work? Ie...
Good to know it’s not that bad (even with the crack). Thanks. Although looks like costs for exchange vs repair aren’t much different.
Couple more questions... I’m really hoping someone can offer some insight into what could have caused this by the pics. Lean and hot? Is there anything I should...
Alrighty getting back into this thing again. Engine is apart now and the exhaust side of the right piston is nuked. Lucky I didn’t lose the skirt! Thinking it must have got hot? Maybe went lean? Wondering if I should be looking into my right injector and if so what would I be looking for. Not...
This is exactly what my sled did, and I also thought it was a bad plug or bad fuel (still haven’t ruled out bad fuel). Would sputter once in a while then went splat. Would fire up once in a while after. No other indicators of it being something serious. See my Monoblock Blues thread for the...
Lots of great info to get this ball rolling, thanks fellas! You’ve saved me hours of research and phone calls. I’ll let you know what I see once I finish the tear down to see if there’s a cause I should be looking for. It’s tricky enough convincing wifey this will only cost a couple hundred...
I need to finish the tear down and will see exactly what happened then but this all happened the day before leaving on vacation. Pulled the head, saw the cylinder, threw a rag over it and walked away.
Thanks for the tip on reman. I see the crank shop and mcbperformance have remans online. Is...
So I’m out ditch bangin with a bud who’s fresh off a broken leg (thankfully not deep in the bush!). Taking it easy, nothing crazy. Sled dies. Haul it home and compression test it. 144 psi on pto side, 50 on mag side. Pull head and find this disaster. What the hell happened here?? Locating pin...
Heads up if anyone is heading out to Fording. We were playing around at the base of the northwest side of Mt Bolton this weekend and an area 100’ wide broke off and slid next to where we were. We weren’t even riding on the part that slid and it’s a pretty gentle slope so I was quite surprised...
Hi guys, I’m new to snowmobiling around Calgary (former prairie boy) and my rear shock started puking this weekend (Summit XP). I’m not having much luck finding a shop that does suspension service for sleds around Calgary. I must be missing something though... can anyone recommend a place that...
