Haul it home and compression test it. 144 psi on pto side, 50 on mag side. Pull head and find this disaster. What the hell happened here?? Locating pin broke and ring spun? Thought that was a 2011 thing...
This is on my 2013 summit XM 800 with 1800 kms. I thought etec’s of this era (13-16) were bulletproof.
Wondering:
What caused this - what should I be checking to make sure it doesn’t happen again?
What can I do to fix this?? Realize I need a top end kit but what are my options for the block - new OEM lists at $1200... Mine is cracked on the bridge, can it be fixed?
