Clutch tools?

Looking at getting a proper set of Doo clutch tools. Where are people getting these that isn't breaking the bank? Looking for primary and secondary. Thanks

C&T makes nice stuff but mine are all home built due to me being a cheap azz. Looking at making a QRS secondary tool next.

Edit: I have the C&T button retainers cause those things are a pain to get lined up.

Im the same. Only thing I have ever bought is the puller bolt. My secondary tool is two of my irwin wood clamps and a 2x8 with a hole drilled in the middle. Primary compressor is an old threaded rod and some nuts and washers. Hillbilly but it works.

Has anyone worked on the pdrive with homemade tools? Have a clutch kit to put in and dont really want to spend the money on tools.

Roosterbuilt. A lot of kits out there but they are by far the best I have tried. Huge difference on my past sleds. Massive gains on the XP, pretty good on the XM. David with RB says the G4 kit is somewhere between the two as far how much of a difference it makes. $365 US shipped within the states.

Reviving the dead here... I’m about to install a DJ kit in my 800 XM and wondering about tools for the secondary. Really trying to avoid spending $200 on tools for one use. Could I not run a piece of 4’ threaded rod through the jack shaft to keep the secondary together while releasing the helix? Or what have you guys made?
Alternatively, anyone in Calgary have XM clutch tools they want to lend out for a day and get a case of beer in return

secondary doesnt have as much movement as the primary
easy to do without fancy tool set
i remove one bolt at a time and replace with longer threaded bolt so u can release slowly and evenly

I have some clutch tools that you can borrow - if you can wait a week there out in sicamous , headed there this coming weekend and could bring them back

Not sure if it’s the same but I made this for a buddies xp. some scrap 1” pipe and treaded rod.

Expands and grips inside the jack shaft.

I use 4 different length bolts, break all the torx stockers free, take two out

Shorter ones in two holes thread in, take other two stock bolts out

Next longer bolts, offset back and forth till last long bolts in and spring tension is gone really ( can push in by hand).

Take the outer adjuster off and secondary with shaft still In

Repeat with long bolts till short bolts and then stick bolts back in

Make sure you align the arrows

And today made a different spring cup pusher with the pdrive holding tool.
Also put a bend into my spring compressor wrench tool to clear the holding tool handle.

That's cheap. I bought all the tools from BRP for my Doo 850. $500. Didn't even get them all, just what I couldn't make shift.
