Anyone know much on these?

I have a 2007 GMC 3500 HD.
The "Service Tire Monitor Sensor" light and warning came on.

What exactly does one service on these?
And how do I clear the code?

Manual says nothing on that.

How old are the TPMS sensors...?
Battery in the sensor inside the tire is probably dead....

There is no way to clear that warning...

Fountain Tire mentioned the sensor battery’s will go dead. I had to replace 1 sensor.

I do like being able to see the pressures.

Wouldnt a dead battery result in that one tire reading low?
I'll have to look into that.

Not sure how old these are.
I know they've been replaced once already

When there’s no signal coming from a wheel it triggers a system fault like what you’re seeing. Shops can check for a signal from each wheel to determine which one is dead but if one is dead the others are likely close behind.

just had 4 winter tires installed on my Ford Escape without tire pressure sensors no light on the dash the summer tires have sensors and the light comes on when one is low maybe if you get rid of all it won't read anything they wanted 40 per tire to have installed my 10.00 tire gauge works just fine and I have a compressor in the shop

I am surprised a tire shop would not have you put sensors in. IMO they are a safety feature of the vehicle.

My spare doesn't have the sensor. And when I used it. The light stayed on. Reading as low.
Even though the low tire wasnt with me. So I assumed the light would be one if it cant read the sensor as well.

I like the idea of getting rid of them

No can do dealers cannot delete safety equipment. Imagine you driving down the road blow a tire and head on with a school bus full of nuns.. dealer would be in big trouble if that came out!

I can’t even get dealer to lower my rears below 80 ish psi. They say it has to be ready for max GVW

My Ram 3500 Dually has them. I like them. Can see pressure changes while towing.

Our new suv has them also.

Noticed light was on for left rear.

Went to tire shop had a nail in the tire. So actually was a good thing to have.
