Wow.

What a bunch of self-righteous dicks chiming in on this thread.

I do whats good for me an F**k the rest of you.

I see it like this, if everybody did their best to follow the laws as stated then the speed limits should be raised. But the simple fact is there are to many idiots who feel that they are above the law and they ruin it for everyone else.

Dead people on the road every day, some are innocent, others not. Simple fact is most accidents are not accidents, they are preventable by simply driving according to the rules of the road and having a bit of patience. I just love watching the idiot driving his jacked up diesel 4x4 with his white oakleys and mirrors flipped out weaving in and out of traffic at a much higher rate than the posted speed limit only to pass him sitting at the next Tim Hortons drive thru.

Oh yeah, I forgot his illegal HID headlights and LED foglights which never turn off.

Where is that video of the mirror rant? I thing I need to watch it again to put me in a better mood.

I sometimes wonder if that's the reason people drive so fast, so they can stop 5 times between here and the city and still make it in 6 hrs lol. I'll see the same vehicle pass me several times heading south (or north for that matter), everything from minivans to other commercial haulers.

grinds my gears.jpg

You know what really grinds my gears? When you're loping along on cruise in the right hand lane and you notice a vehicle trying to merge. A quick check of the mirrors shows lots of space in the left hand lane, so like any courteous driver, I slide over to make room for the incumbent driver. The new guy then "traps" me in the left lane by precisely matching my speed, thereby making me look like I'm not clearing the passing lane for faster traffic. Seeing as how I am a law abiding citizen, my only recourse is to reduce speed and get behind the new addition. Well holy fawk you should watch the impatient left lane speeder douches lose their frickin' minds!

Another perennial favorite is passing someone on cruise at a respectable speed differential only to have them speed up. Use the frickin' cruise control people!!!

This explains exactly how I felt on a day trip to Calgary last Monday. The amount of people that refuse to use cruise control blows my mind!

I had flashy lights on drove in slow lane to be safe
Flashy lights give you the right to do anything on the hwy. drive slow, stop in the middle or even back up. It's true I've seen it done before.

IMO....

If having the whitemud slowed down to 60km/h during rush hour to avoid the dum-dum rubbernecking and accidents.. I am all for it.

For some reason, if a truck is parked on the side of the road at 53 ave, q=with a flat.... EVERYONE has to stop and look.. WTF???

That is so true.

We can be at an accident on QE2 going South . So ok One lane going South.

The Northbound lane separated by a grass ditch and cable barriers can continue at 110 km/hr.

But oh no, let's slow down to get pictures. Then Northbound gets jammed up.

Govern all big trucks at 65 , there'll still be the duma$$es who wanna pass the other truck on the passing lane even tho they have the capability of going 2 km/hr faster , maybe , but at least everyone will be able to get by at a reasonable speed once the hill is cleared before they have to chug back down to 25 km/ hr at the next incline .
Plus, either decrease the maximum payload weight allowable, or , revamp and revise the minimum standard for hiway construction, then maybe we can eliminate the big ruts in the pavement. Interesting thought , some say most hiways should be toll roads for any commercial vehicle and I believe this has some merit, it isn't the pickups and passenger cars creating the most impact on our roads.

Every highway and road is a toll road for a commercial vehicle. Do you have any idea how much tax every commercial vehicle pays every day of the year? Secondly, you do realize that EVERY item you consume or purchase rides on the back of a commercial truck at some point. Raise tax's, tolls or whatever you want and in the end it comes out of your pocket.

Here is one for you, put more passing lanes on level or down hill slopes so the commercial vehicle's out there have a chance to get by the rubber necking gawkers who like to travel at 5 to 10 km's below the speed limit. We are coming into tourist season, the roads are going to get plugged with RV's and grey beards. Cut your local trucker a break and make room for him to get around. Remember, you are in their workplace. How would you like it if a trucker came into your place of work and caused you to spend an extra 30 minutes to an hour a day of extra time that you dont get paid for?

Well sh!t Lenny, finally u said something right for a change

Yesterday on our way back from Alberta, every 2nd pass lane traffic got jammed up because of some tard truck driver trying to pass another....

Then the one long pass hill close to Albert pass, there's this truck driver, no load, just empty trailers, no one in front for miles, in the fast lane....

I passed him on the right, got in front, slowed down and went back and forth between the lanes to give him the idea,

Still stayed in the fast lane

Give him the bird and left

What a f tard

Well that's an interesting thought , cause over the years of driving Ive many times spent well over 30 minutes extra in my day trapped behind a truck that can only make 20 kmh up a 5 mile grade while they did their job. That's kinda like what you mean right ?
