Our group is 2 nitro's with turbos (180) and 2 09 XP's then some revs. If you are not afraid to be 20+ into a sled the yammi is a good choice. If you wanna have fun for less the XP is great. I am a ski doo guy.

No etec 800 will run with a low boost nitro. Especially in the mountains at altitude. I run two nitros. A low boost 153 as a ditchbanger and spare sled. And a 270 mcx. Combined they had been bullet proof for 8000 km bent a sub frame once. Pretty awesome sleds and nice to ride. Super comfortable. Got to admit I do miss the light weight of my m series but will never go back to any 2 stroke. U could build a low boost for way less than a etec. Turbo 5 grand and a new 2009 nitros some in the showrooms still for under 10 k

Well, with the 800 e-tec you can put gas in one hole, oil in the other, press a button and rip up the mountain The Nytro in stock form its a heavy, underpowered turd. Now throw a turbo(3 grand ?), shave off 50lbs( 3 grand ?), and suspension and a 2.5 or 3 inch track( 4 grand) on a Nytro and its a different story.
You really should not compair the 2 sleds, apples to oranges.
if you knew how much guys spend on a pimped out turbo nytro:eek: you could buy a used mastercraft wakeboard boat and fill it full of hot chicks all summer for the price of a well built yammie turbo...:d:d:d:d

You've been drinking too much yellow snow Lucas. :nono: All mfgs make great sleds. I'd ride almost any of them;)
A guy asks a simple question with some solid responses from people who have ridden and acutally "OWN" both.:p I'd tend to believe their testimonials rather than someone whos been to Doo school too many times;)
Didn't anyone ever tell you in salesman school not to bash your competitors?? hehehehehe
Aaron rode a 2010 stock for a month last year.....says it felt just like his XP.......so yeah you can compare a 2010 chasis Nytro to an XP. I would. Gas in one hole and 25 bucks worth of oil the entire year...not each ride:rolleyes:

Keep on drinkin the Freshie.....lol
Sorry had to do it :)

I ride both sleds weekly. To me the chassis are very similar minus the added weight of the nytro, but there is a huge difference in preformance with stock sleds. I do like the nytro chassis and these are the only two sleds i can ride without any needed time to adjust as they are very similar in ride position etc.

I can only speak for the 09 153 nytros with the maverick and it is a reliable fun sled in setup snow and fresh under 30cm. Anything more and im sorry, it is as described above, a turd...lol I can ride with the best of them, but in deep unsetup snow it is useless unless you are going down hill. The motor does have awesome torque and is a blast to ride, i would imagine the new 162s would go much better in stock form.

I LOVE my XP, but honestly, if I could afford to lighten up and boost a Nytro, and be gaurenteed the setup was right the first time, I would be on one in a second, but that will NEVER happen unless i win the lottery, move to alberta or Mr Swenson decides to donate some goodies towards our maintenance sled....hahaha

Both are great sleds, it depends on your needs and desires

hahahaha Randy I love you buddy but sheesh, your the Yamaha Canada sales rep. Your opinon is more jaded than mine, and you dont ride anything close to a stock sled.:nono::nono:
I have ridden a stock Nytro and a boosted one, a few times too. If I made the kind of $ you did, yep, I'd consider a turbo'd sled, but dollar for dollar a stock Nytro is not a 800 class sled.
I'm representing the next generation of cross over sledder( there is alot of us BTW, infact most of my/our new customers are just that), coming from motocross and snowboarding, I want my sled to be just like my motocross bike, as good as it's gonna get stock and the rest is up to me.....the rider. I'm/we are not interested in modding the crap out of a sled. A e tec rider can pick his new sled up at the shop and ride the whole mountian, let rider skill be the factor, not the thickness of somebodys wallet.
Lets have an average guy with 3 years riding experince on a stock Nytro and then on a stock e-tec 800 and see what happens.

And why are we arguing about this here in the first place ?
I'll be in Revy next weekend with a stock 2011 e-tec, and its not even broken in yet, you can bring a stock Nytro, we will give them both to random rider back to back and see what happens. Like every time I go riding, I'll post the photo's and video of what happens right here on snow and mud.lolol

How can you compare apples and oranges. Rode the nitro 162 stock in keyhole last year and it was a cadilac and handled well in the powder compared to the xp 163. The nitro was stock 200k on it and the xp was a 09 with extensive clutching on it and they were even for a while 200yards up hill and then the xp pulled away. I have a video somewhere on it. I am not or wasnt a yami lover but for down here i would pick the yami imo.

Whitecourt is "up there", not "down here".

Not so in North Dore. 20 or so locals watched the opposite of of your first two sentences. Just came down some from 9200 feet, and went head to head with a Turbo'd(low boost) ONLY Nitro. e-Tec clearly ruled that hill test, and rider ability was not much of an issue there, pretty straight forward. More track & other bucks spent on the Nitro may have made for a different result. e-Tec was a stock proto.
