June 5th Yamaha introduced the new Star Venture. Yamaha introduced a new V twin touring bike that looks alot like the other V twin touring bikes on the market. It does have some new hi tech gadgets, but its basically a Stratoliner in full touring trim. Price on the fully decked out Transcontinental Package will be well over $30,000 Canadian.

Yamaha is clearly going after HD market. Hope it does better than Victory did. Not sure about Yamaha's claim that this will also spark fear in Honda and take some of the Goldwing market.

It's definately got some great new features. With all the options Yamaha had for an engine, I wish they had stayed away from the big V twin. No rated HP yet, but the twin does have decent torque(126ftlbs at 2500 rpm) with a 4750 prm redline.
Premium fuel, 6.6 gal tank and only 300 km range
Twin alternators for more electrical capacity
Electric park assist
LED lights
ABS braking
Belt drive (prefer shaft drive but its heavier)
Heated grips and seats
Trunk large enough for two helmets!!
957 lbs dry!!! The Bridgestone rear tire better have a huge carrying capacity for 2 up full loaded riding.
Lots of electronic goodies on the Transcontinental Package.
TC package over $37,000 Canadian plust GST!!!
