Wrap install - Any pointers?

Ordered a wrap from SCS a couple of days ago, for those that have done their own, is there anything I should do besides what's on the install video?

Take your time and use a heat gun, make sure panels are CLEAN.

OK, I've removed all the old stickers and washed the sled twice with a 70/30 isopropyl bath but I am having difficulty removing the old sticker residue. What do you all use to remove this stuff, I bought some specialized wipes Goo Gone ( or something like that) and it is not coming off. Need to get this cleaned today as i'll be installing the wrap tomorrow.

goo-gone, or sometimes WD 40, if you use WD 40 you'll have to wipe that spot with the isopropyl again

I tried the Goo Gone wipes and it didn't work, i'll give the WD 40 a shot and see how it goes. I've got a bunch of the isopropyl so re-cleaning it won't be a problem. Thanks for the tip. When you did your wrap did you do the wet or dry method?

I didn't the other half did..... I don't have the patience to do it. All the wraps we've done we've done the wet method..... gives more time to align the panels properly.

Go get a can of actual Goo-Gone if you can find it, I've never used the wipes, just have a can of the actual solvent.

Hahaha, no way my other half will install mine, hell, i'll probably end up doing hers when she decides to wrap her sled. I'm not very patient either but I'm going to have to be as I don't want to screw this up.

I've done 2 now and it's much easier on the newer sleds because the pieces are smaller, the old M8 was a pain trying to get all the bubbles out of the larger pieces. I used a hair dryer for heat and the little plastic squeegee from spiralus.

I was very picky and it took me a long time, in hind sight I would not stress so much about perfection, you can stick air bubbles with a pin and add heat to flatten it out.

Hahaha, no way my other half will install mine, hell, i'll probably end up doing hers when she decides to wrap her sled. I'm not very patient either but I'm going to have to be as I don't want to screw this up.

Diesel cleans off the sticker residue nicely, just gotta make sure to use alcohol to clean the surface afterwards. Tak your time min 8 beer job.

Too bad I didn't see this. I left the stock decals on mine when I did the wrap. Unless you know they are they and go looking you would never know. Plus if the wrap is removed the decals are there still.

I found this out a little to late but that's ok, she looks good naked......lol.

Got about 75% of the sled done, I have to admit that putting that first piece on was a pia, I must have pulled it off and put it back on about 20 times before I was happy with it. The rest went fairly easily after that but something I would recommend to those that are doing the tunnel, pull the bumper off while prepping your sled and it will save you a some time. One thin I was wondering about is why they don't include pieces for the 2 knee panels? Will post some pics after I get it finished.

Some kits do have pieces for the knee area and some don't depends on what glue they use and what the sticker is made of but If your knees rub the panel a lot it could peel. I assume that's why some do not include those pieces, same with the belly pan on some kits.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking too but thought I'd ask anyways. Looking at the stock pic from SCS it looks like those pieces aren't included so no biggie, the panel where the pull start is located is all nicked up anyways so it probably would last very long.

I always thought the blank pieces in the knee area where the information/safety decals are would still be there. You know that liability thing these days......................Maybe not???
