I ask as I have only seen them pull over a pickup once and it was a commercial truck hauling a trailer with a tank on it. Typically dot don't go after the private vehicles. That is left for the rcmp

I don't even know why they make 3/4 ton trucks either 1/2 or 1 ton would make sense to me. Eventually I will have one of each but for now it is a 1/2 ton and a trailer. One day it will be a 1 ton a deck and a trailer.

This was a new body style full load ram sport with apparently a 1300lbs payload. I weighed it on the garbage dump scale in Saskatoon. The site says base curb weight is 5500 lbs so the gas me and my subs and so on is 600 lbs. sheesh may have to get a 2500 but i want my auto 4x4 for the icy roads.

I couldn't afford a 2500, i leased a gmc out of school and put what i got from my 98 into the lease. It was $400 a month for a new crew gmc so no complaints but nothing to put down on my dodge, i luckily got it for cost threw the fiat group friends and family discount for $37,000 new. So ill be able to put some cash down on my next one so hopefully will get a 2500 even if its a hemi. The $8000 motor option will buy a ton of gas. Heck maybe ill get a power-wagon other than the crazy high gears but i want a 8 foot bed this 5'7" bed is so short for 155-163 sleds hahah

It is all about what works for you. I looked at 1 ton dodges years ago and almost bought my first diesel back then. I took the truck for an extended road test. After three hours of driving both myself and my wife had nasty headaches from the ride. Gave that one back. Had a crew cab ford f350 gas job. Held the weight ok just no power to pull it. Last couple trucks were 1/2t which worked ok but works hard if I had any weight in it or towing it. My 2010 dodge diesel is a massive improvement. Rides well and handles everything I throw at it. Rides decent too. Power is awesome.

That's my problem when empty I want to drive a half ton but when towing or loaded I wish it was a one ton. Soon enough I will have one of each then problem solved.

That may be your listed payload but ad 200 lbs for fuel and however much for a passenger and that 1100 is quite a bit lower as the truck will not run without fuel or a passenger.

My crew cab tundra is good for 1100lbs and it an 04 so its not a big as the newer ones.

Good to know I'm not far off of a domestic half ton.

My 3500 single wheel with 400L of fuel on board and me is 8600lbs with a gvw of 9800lbs. What kind of 3/4 ton weights 6500lbs I am just curious?????????

Reg cab long boxes and half cab short boxes are around 6500lbs

If any of my friends are ever looking at trucks and not sure what to buy as far as half ton 3/4 or 1 ton. I tell them if you like trucks buy a half ton, cud use a truck some times go 3/4, and if you need a truck just buy a 1 ton

I like the new GM's. I was thinking about getting one before I walked into this dodge. I am going to look at them again when it is time.
