I had heard that the Dodge 1500 mega cabs were the worst for this.

My 11 ram with about 3/4 tank ish(120L) is just under 5600 lbs, gvw is 6800 so I got a 1200 lb payload with no driver, add me and I can put 1000lbs in the back

Hmm. My 05 1500HD and 04 2500LD crew cab 6.5' bed 4X4's ( same trucks in every way, as well as configuration) weigh less than your "1/2 ton" empty. Something wrong with that when I have heavier suspension, bigger front diff, 4L80E tranny, and an extra foot of frame that is larger channel plus bed...... Unless the OP is like 400 lbs himself.

Just put airbags in it,it will handle a deck with two sleds no problem.

Thats true......

When I lived at Sandy Beach and hauled my own water with a 300 gallon tank in the back of my 83 Dodge 1/2 ton (with the biggest 50's I could put on the back). I had overloaders, and was never bothered by the RC's. Because my truck would sit level with 3000lbs in the box :D

My payload is supposed to be just over 5100 lbs. I gotta love my 1 ton. And the ride is better then my 08 1/2t was.
