burns are one of the worst possible pains.... early in life(early 20's) was working on one of the hundreds of propane powered taxis(we did a lot of the conversions) and the car I was working on, needed a remote fill installed. The owner failed to tell us it had a propane leak, and it filled the trunk. when I started to hole cut for the remote fittings, it exploded, knocking me about 20 ft backwards into the shop door. I had 2 and 3 degree burns on my head and hands/arms. I roll up my coverall sleeves, like I still do, so burnt up to there... I had a cheesy early 80's style moustache at the time, and it melted back across my face and my eyebrows and hair were all melted backwards... I was in hospital for about 3 weeks, on heavy morphine for the first 2 weeks, and saline baths almost every 3 hours as well as constant wrap changes/cleaning .... skin on my face and arms were badly melted, and would come off in slabs :( .... they thought i'd be disfigured from the burns, but because of my youngish age, recovered almost 100 percent. when cold out, I can still see the line on my arms from where they burned up to, as it's a little different color, and that's about it.... I've shattered an ankle/leg skateboarding, separated my pelvis sledding, several broken fingers in several different sports, broken back from a car accident, separated shoulder from a car accident, and several bad cuts, but no pain(other than the separated pelvis) has even been close to the pain of bad burns, that I've experienced.....

As a welder I been burnt more then the average person and I have to agree it's the worse! If you break, pinch, sprain or even cut something you can usually sit or move it in a way it don't hurt as bad. But burning just hurts no matter what!

Glad to here you made it out ok overall!

I'm a welder aswell. Have a rule for burns. If your getting burn't count to 10 if it still hurts check it out it means you have a bigger problem or your actually ON fire. Lol.

As an apprentice I was working on an older Case skid steer which had a forklift attachment on the front. I was between the mast and boom, reached in cab to grab something and hit the controls with my elbow causing the mast to flip backwards, pinching my torso and back between the boom and mast. Stupid mistake on my part but got away with deep bruising and scar tissue in my abdomen.

I think welding is in of the only trades where you can say to your fellow worker "your on fire" and they say thanks, nobody gets excited they stay calm and put the fire out after they finish the rod! Lol. If a banker told another banker they were on fire they would panic lol

Fell on ice going to a residence 2 years ago in March. Broke my left wrist and tore two major tendons in left shoulder. Tore Supraspinatus tendon of the bone and ripped another one almost in half. Needed surgery on the shoulder as I couldn't left my arm and had a lot of pain. So far wcb has been great to deal with. Still have pain and discomfort and limitations. I sure notice the shoulder when working in the yard all day. When I go to bed I can't rest on that side. My wrist swells up all the time as well. When I play slow pitch it usually starts swelling up right away or when wrenching on trucks or toys it hurts. I always know when the weather is going to change now.

I never get hurt at work.

Only on days off

That's why "You the Capitain"

Nothing as severe as some have told. Few cuts, bruises and near misses.
When I was around 17, had an old hay elevator (type that were on wheels) collapse on me. pinned for a while but walked away.

I have found there are different levels of pain, if you cannot sleep at night you are in pain. Anything else is just whining

Have you considered lying down maybe the only time you're not in pain ?
