Will you buy an Alpha, should you?

After seeing the Alpha in person I am way more comfortable with it. I still need to ride one, not because I don't think it will work but to see if it is right for my riding style. These sleds have become a personal thing what works for one may not work for everyone else. I could not ride the REV, just felt out of control and hated it. The XM and G4 way more comfortable for me. I like the Asender chassis a lot, easy to ride I am comfortable on it. If I was younger no problem I would be one the Alpha next year and never look back. That being said I still think this chassis will be my choice I just need to try one for an hour or two.

I had my Rev dialed in, worked great

Then went to a 2010 xp, we'll after fawking around for lots of time got it to go and run better and it's still running good and never been apart to this day , but never got it to ride even close to a Rev or xm, was a big step back for me and kicked myself in the azz, but the Rev chassis had 12000 plus km on it and was falling apart

Have had 2 xm's since, still have the xp as a spare but going to sell it as it's never road at all

I woud like to know what these things will be like on the trail to the hills, most places I ride are 20+km ride in

Talking to the rep he said it was a little different than the old mountain cat but still can rail corners up. most of the tip on hard pack comes from the ski stance, wit the QS3 stiffen the front end up and go. only 7 days and i will be back with a more conclusive answer

Anyone going to the demo in Vale? I'm thinking of heading down either Saturday or Sunday, riding a day or two, and then doing the demo on Monday before heading back. As of now, I'm solo. Anyone solo wanna truck pool down, or any groups want a tag a long for a couple days?

I might be interested but comming back Sunday night unless there is 3 ft of new snow

I believe you on your REV, I saw a lot that guys that had them working good. I just couldn't get the hang of that chassis. I jumped on a G4 and other than the unpredictability I liked it. I could ride my buddy's Pro better than him for the first 2 years he owned it, he had a hard time getting used to the chassis. That's why I believe it's a personal preference thing. Now with the G4, Alpha, and the changes Polaris made, maybe it will be more of a universal thing only time will tell.

Good thing with the cats, is you can change the steering to be like a doo or Polaris

My short ride on the Alpha left me thoroughly impressed. The machine got up on edge effortlessly and held the edge while crossing from soft to packed snow, and over ruts and trenches. The track was amazing. The machine found all sorts of traction on steep side hills and climbs, and didn't try to trench like previous cats are known for. The dropped and rolled chaincase on both the mountain cat and alpha is the major reason for the lack of trenching in my opinion. The Ctec engine and team clutches got the power to the ground in a very controlled manner, not the hold on because you're going for a ride way that I've grown accustomed to on my older sleds.

Overall, this sled is going to be hard to beat for technical riding. It's a huge improvement in every way over the 2015 Sno Pro that I currently ride. I will most definitely be purchasing one in the near future.

Yeah, that's what I've heard from a couple dealers.

Well I rode that Alpha this morning and I was very impressed, would I buy one , in a heartbeat. Wish I could have spent more time on it but the time I did spend on it I didn’t want too give it back. See how it does next year.

I not brand loyal. Cat. Yami. Polaris. Doo’s. Owned many multiples of each. The two times I rode the 165 alpha on the weekend in deep trees is all it took. That’s the hardest hitting traction of any track yet. Top it of with wicked handling. It’s going to be a hit. I Haven’t owned a cat for the mountains since 2009. Till now. Snow check is coming. The new alpha is a weapon.
