You'll want to set yourself up with some gear and dedicate half your life to fixing these fawking things.

Stay away from the blade 130. Real POS with the tail rotor. The gears have stripped out so many times. That hobby can get so out of hand blowing money on parts and its all gone with the slip of a stick. LOL

oh ok. Was looking at that one too. Saw it with a dx6i for $360.

I have that transmitter and it works well,.. but I do suggest buying a sim,.. you know the old adage,.. spend a little to save you a lot :)

Also would be cool to start a group on the multiplayer server and mess around.

yes definitely going to buy the Phoenix sim. Awesome idea and perhaps will dull the learning curve of a big boy chopper with collective pitch.

i have both the trex 250 and the 300x. The 250 is still lying in pieces. I enjoy the 300 much more. The 250 is very fast and hard to control. I've tried many combinations of set up with the 250 and I just find it harder to fly... twitchy. The trex 450 Fbl is a nice unit but still not big enough for a gopro. I've tried using larger battery's in the 450 which are heavier and with the extra weight it "toilet bowls" fast on you. Can't imagine what it would be like with a camera. IMO you would need a 500 or 600 to pack a camera well enough to do what you want in less you just want to record crashes...lol.
Most higher end Helis have "crash kits" you can buy. They come complete with blades, boom, skid. Rear rotor etc. every crash is different. To be honest I buy them two at a time...parts rig. A simulator is a must no matter what. Good luck.

the 300x looks like a nice rig, but I really don't know a lot about them. Im mind of leaning to this or the Mcpx BL. Something about the size of the 300x appeals to me though. The 450 really seems like a big heli and looks pretty intimidating.

The Mcpx BL seems to be popular. Good reviews about it. Seems like a beast for a little heli.

You got the Knight 600 together. Have you flown it? What about the Atom? I like your man cave hobby room with the shelves. Nice touch.

I just bought a blade sr. Thought it would be cool. Had no idea what I was getting into. Wasted money! Should have got a $49.00 one. No way I can fly this thing.

I haven't flown the knight yet. I have it together for the most part. I fly the Atom a lot. I haven't done any 3d with it yet. It's a very stable unit. I converted the trex 450 to FBL and it flys well. It's a fast little biotch. No 3d with it yet either. I'm doing a little 3d with the 300x. It crashes well and is cheap and easy to fix. I'm putting a fair amount of sim time in lately as I'm down with a recent shoulder surgery. This spring I should be doing a little more 3d I hope. I'm addicted.

Lol. Your not alone man. Put it into its dummy mode and tie it to the floor with 4 short pieces of string to all 4 corners of the skid. Keep the string short enough to not let the rotor blades hit the floor but long enough to get the skids off the floor. Just practise to keep it from tipping over. You'll get it.

The 120SR? Damn, i love mine. Takes some tweaking and i feel that you have to fly it "wrong" to fly it well if you get whar i mean. The 45 degree stabilizer is the culprit but does make it easier to start out.

Anyone have any experience with multi-rotors? I know it's not what most of you are flying, but I'm actually looking more to get some decent video and don't want to have to be so concerned with the challenge of flying the thing while I'm recording. Leaning towards the new Phantom Vision.

Thanks! That's a great idea. I seen some things for learning that are supposed to help. They are little sticks with balls on the end that attach to each corner, I have still seen a bunch of u tube vids of people crashing them with the kit on though

Its just an SR not a sr120

Allan has always been amazing. I didn`t know there was an 800 size out now. That is pretty nimble for a heli that size. Sheesh.

Well 5 charges in and my tail rotor motor burnt out. I would think they would last a little bit longer. I read they burn out a lot!

I had many more charges than that on my 120sr and McpX and no problems,.. the only thing I replaced a lot of was blades.

If it's a blade heli, call the support number and they will send you new parts for free. It should not fail after 5 flights.

Your local Hobby shop will have the motor in and they are right around $8 and about a 5 minute install. I've only ever had to change one on my sr120. Not worth the hassle dicking around with warranty IMO.
