I love the idea of handlebar exhaust too, and I'm really thinking of doing this with a set of 10 speed handlebars, so that the flames shoot out towards the back, that would be so bad ass!!!!! Not sure about the extra steering effort that's going to be needed with the new bars, but I figure that I can always port my ski tips to reduce some of the steering effort needed.
Its a lesser known but proven fact that consuming large amounts of American beer or the BC version (Kokanee) and urniating into the fuel tank of a Cat increases HP at altitude by atleast 15HP. Why else do they make the mouth of a Cat fuel tank so wide? ~Spilly pee'ers
Good thing summer is here so you guys can clear that 2 stroke exhaust from your Brain..
Noise doesnt make HP. its the design of the pipes, I run Quiet aftermarket SLP pipes on my 03 800 VE Polaris.it leaves my sons 2010 800 Assault in my snowdust. Or he lets the old man beat him? but I dont think so.
2003 Polaris 800 Vertical Escape ,,like to trade for a 600 or 700 w reverse & elec start, its too fast for this ole fart.
Lets go back to the straight pipe right out of the hood... With the needed back presure you would get weld in a large washer inside the pipe. Giving the needed back presure and you could change the tone to what you want . And a plus would be at an idle it might make little smoke rings
Noise doesn't make power???? WTF???? Who told you that? My neighbours kid with a 1989 Honda Civic and coffee can muffler will disagree with you I'm sure.
Maybe you want to read the whole thread.......

Im starting to sway from the handle bar idea, I finally just installed my new super bar tassels (removed straight from a strippers boobies) and I dont want them to melt. I might add that the turbulence caused by the tassels forms an invisible air differential around my body, thus reducing drag and has increased my top speed by 13mph and another benifit is it repels trees so double bonus.

What about adding a tractor rain cap? You could add some more weight to the cap and that would help the backpressure as well no? Plus it would look realy cool rattling around up there. Restoration Supply Farmall Tractor Parts

What comes out must go in. There has been allot of focus on exhaust, and be it a very important aspect of the equation, there has not been allot of discussion about the intake side, other that the ported reed recommendation, which I concur with by the way!
Should go with a y-pipe in place of them little baby carbs to a 1 1/2" X 4" cast iron flange 90, and a Holly 750 double pumper on top. There is a slight irregularity in the mating surfaces, but I'm sure Princess Auto will have a match set of vice grips to hold it in place. Be sure to use lock tite on the vice grip threads. Would not want to burn down that bad ass beast over a bullch!t mistake like running lean because of a intake leak.
Good luck my fiend
