Where to buy airplane deicing fluid?

Just seeing if anybody knows where to get some? I do not have any connections with an airport....

Are you using it for your airplane? If not go buy some propylene/ethylene glycol that is non toxic, I know Amsoil sells some.

My bad LOW TOXICITY,.. I was only stating that in case he was using a lot and had animals at his residence.

All else falls then let some ice cream melt and use that.

Airplane de-icing is just Methanol. Used widely in the oil patch. Buy it in bulk from some one like Tri-Hi pressure in Whitecourt.

Methanol is corrosive to aluminum, unless the aluminum is anodized. I don't think an airplane would fly very long with frequent methanol washing.

As far as I know, it is just Propylene glycol with a dye , which is less toxic than ethylene glycol. We sell a lot of it for HVAC glycol heating systems through my water treatment company.

Thanks for the responses guys its for an oilfield thing... going to try it on some gage boards on tanks that freeze off all the time methanol first to free them up and then hit it with de-icer long shot but may work.

UNIVAR stocks most Dow and other common aircraft deicing fluids in Edmonton and Calgary. You can purchase it by the barrel or 1000 litre tote.

You can also look at some runway deicer. Cryotech is a popular manufacturer of liquid runway deicers.
