It's a safety thing (the tint on drivers and passengers sides). It wont shatter as designed if its covered in tint and stay in shard like pieces.

I'm sure its a nice truck, but I think there is more to this story.

Rules vs Laws.
Seems a little unfair to attack the window tint but it is a law.
Breakaway, well that's the law and I wouldn't want to meet any truck without the breakaway failing if it actually broke away...IMO.
Tough break.

So your mad cuz???? I don't get it. It's against the law to have tinted windows and really you never tested you break away when you hooked onto your trailer!!!! Thats kind of an important part dontcha think???? In my opinion the cop only did his job.

I ran dark tint on my mustang for years. Finally got caught one day. Chitty, but the law is the law....told me if he saw me with it still on the next day my ride would be impounded! As for the breakaway, that's just a safety issue and it's pretty stupid to not run one in proper working order! It really has nothing to with the plates bud! :)

People are getting so used to cops giving them a break and letting them go easy as in being nice, that when a cop enforces the law it's such a surprise..

The window tint is illegal because the police cant see whats happening in the vehicle, therefore they cant tell if there is anything illiegal. And they cant see in for thier own saftey on what they are approaching. They can write two tickets in alberta... Attempt to disguise interior of vehicle.... 158 dollars, or illegal window film on driver or passenger windows... 57 dollars. They only way they can make you rip it off is if they have already given you a "have work order" on a white peice of paper and you havent got that done and checked back in... otherwise they are liable for destruction of personal property.

thats what I have heard anyway.............................

I know it is illegal and have heard the safety thing before, makes sense. Just wondering why it is Ok in a place like Nevada. Go to Vegas and pretty much every vehicle has tinted windows, probably because of the heat. Is that a tint in the window and not added after? Just wondering.

I am suspecting the cop wasnt the one with the ego.

So you think because you drive a lifted f650 you don't have to obey the law? The cop is not the one with the ego here. He's doing his job. You're the one who is driving illegally and obviously unsafe to be on the road.
