I'm not sure why any Yammy guys would take offence...they likely never bought or built them to ride in the trees. It is a myth that they can't be rode in the trees anyways. The guys that preach the word have likely never thrown a leg over them and tried any technical riding anyway. I personally didn't have any major issues whenever we had to break trail for all of the 2 stroke guys in to turtle through the trees when it was 4 ft deep. lol
I'm a switch hitter now as I ride both a 2 and 4 stroker and they are both fun in their own way.
All the keyboard banter is entertainiing this time of year anyway.

Has anyone tried riding a new 800 Cat in the trees? they practically weigh identical to what a Nytro weighs ready to ride. How come no one picks on them?

He's got a point about the new cat. Just sayin

The way I look at it, and I ride a new cat 800, yes they are a little heavy, the hood weighs a ton itself, but, whether youre on a turbo Yamaha tank or a lightweight Polaris pro, whatever it is you spend seat time on if you are a good rider you will adjust to the sled and learn how to ride it like it is. Just because one person can't throw a yamaha around in the trees or put a 2 stroke up thru 4ft of pow breaking trails, doesn't mean that NO ONE can do it... People adjust to what they ride and in my opinion once that happens its hard to tell the difference between the sleds other then what's on paper. I ride with a couple guys that switched to turbo nytros from stock 2 strokes the year before and theyve adjusted to it and if u ask me they're riding styles hasn't changed a bit only that they have the ability to point and shoot at damn near anything.

I personally don't care for the handling of the yami's but they work my buddy Wayne is a great rider seen him take his T nytro place's through the trees most others couldn't go. So each to there own I prefer my doo not to many places I can't take it.

there's something to be said about riding a machine just shy of 400hp up a near vertical climb whizzing past rocks mere feet from either side of you. once you get to the point of no return and make it up, it's a crazy feeling. I think there was an added factor of adrenaline knowing it wasn't my sled....(Thanks BDF :D).

I prefer drops and stuff, seems way more "controlled" to me. and I can do it on my own sled lol

lol at this thread.
There are several boosted 4 stroke riders who can make them shine in any environment. Ride what you pride.......skillz do matter ;)

Safe sleddin....or safe keyboard riding is more like it......lmao

I agree. It takes more skill to run that heavy pig up the hill than a lighter sled. It has to be a lot more planned out and faster reactions to make that go where you want it to. Granted the power does help, but regardless you still have to throw it around. I was going to lightweight my m1000 until i realized i have jumped it 80 feet and it is a bit of a harder landing, but not enough to spend $5000+ on carbon fiber haha. so im going turbo instead and gonna just push her limits. or her push mine, we'll see.

From reading this thread it seems the worst part is having to deal with everyone harassing you about your choice in a sled. Who cares what someone else wants to ride. Its gotta get annoying having people tell you the sled you ride and like and the type of riding you do is wrong all the time.

Lots key board talk not nearly as many POW walk. I've witnessed another R.S do some crazy chit on any one of his 3 Yammi turbos. There is no substitute for HP to that degree.

From my experience unless you ride what everyone else thinks is the greatest you take this. ie whats the worst part about riding a new cat or my poo blew up again last ride or my crank fell out of my doo. Its man made junk and we take shots at each other. GET THICKER SKIN!!! or just laugh at it and go break trail and show your buddies sleds up. Last way is the best!!!!
