Trudeau, Gerald butts and Katie Telford stated directly after the last election that shutting down the oil sands was a goal. After 4 years of deliberate action to force the oil and gas industry out of business, that downward momentum is now self sustaining. The federal government no longer has to do anything to keep this happening, investors now understand that Canada is closed for business, their money cannot generate a rate of return remotely close to other countries, so they’re pulling the plug here.
they realize that trans mountain is an iffy proposition as the protests and civil disobedience hasn’t even started yet, and in all likelihood there will be more legal hurdles as well.
Now that the liberals are back in power with an NDP backstop to a majority, smart money will be leaving Canada. Encana will be just the start of the stampede. Alberta and Saskatchewan are in big trouble, with the rest of the Canadian economy following in a year or two as the loss of revenue hits everywhere.

I bet they are all high-fiving each other behind closed doors.

Global news has business news attached to every newscast and its sickening to hear how much our banks make.

ManuLife is up there as well.. All companies that are highly profitable = they only make money because we allow them too - it's our money, investments and debt that allow these companies to grow and thrive.. Where do you think those banks and Manulife have there head offices - correct - downtown Toronto where the Vacancy rate is some of the lowest in North America..

Ontario isn't seeing the financial pinch Alberta is because they are living off all our money and investments...

ATB or a local Credit Union may be a better place for our money.. I'm going to do some more research and try and get my Money out of TD and into something more local..

Big Banks don't have any advantage for you over little ones..

Biggest companies in the US include:
Walmart
Exxon
Apple
Amazon
CVS

Biggest Companies in Canada:
Royal Bank
Bank of Nova Scotia
Bank of Montreal
Toronto Dominion
Online Casino

Clear to see who are what would run the Countries.. Banks and the East have the control because we've allowed..

Our money and investments are what fund the Liberal propaganda machine...

Dont kid yourself, banking is HUGE money business in the USA. Its a cartel

JPMorgan Chase has 2.73 TRILLION dollars in assets under management. That's 1 bank...

The sad part is that these companies that are shutting down or moving south are not coming back.
Build a cirridor and pipeline (if ever) but they will not return, they took their losses and whippings once.
There is going to be a rapid spiral down when the money stops flowing east.
There will be no restart....none of those that left and are leaving are coming back for a second screwing.

Sadly leaving confederation is becoming the best option.
If Exon could find a buyer for all of Kearl they would be gone tomorrow.
Just how much can CNRL purchase?

I wonder how many people understand what it would take to make oil and gas have a positive outlook to the future.

There is a **** storm coming and man are people underestimating what is coming.
Been in it well past 30 years and glad I am almost done.

No one here thinks leaving is a viable option. They think the east is gonna have a change of heart and take their foot off our throat.

If you would have asked me 10 years ago if CNRL was "the" company to work for, I would have laughed.

But they are really the sole survivor.
