We had a '66 SnoScoot as well, but had a early '60's skidoo that came with a farm we bought. We rode the snoscoot so hard once the spark plug popped out and we had to dig thru 3 ft. of snow to find it. Screwed it back in and away we went. Eventually had to helicoil it.
My grandpa's advice about the skidoo, "never ride that thing any farther than you'd care to walk back." The good old days.

My family had a 72 Yamaha GP292 single cyclinder fast on hard pack but terrible on fresh snow. I had a 77 Everest 340 that my buddy and I spent more time working on then riding. Also rode a 76 Jag 3000 you could not kill that sled. My first mountain sled was a 97 Powder special 580 then a 2001 MC 800 and now a 2008 M8 153.

Had to dig out the old album for this one. A 1970 440 Arctic Cat Panther with that big gas tank in the back. Man could that baby break trail compared to the others.

Back in the days when we lived in the NWT and drove sleds like vehicles. It was a little tough going on bush rides in the dark so we really enjoyed the spring riding when the sun
was a little higher in the sky.

1982 SS440 $3200 at Riverside, crazy fast back then and had a blast and couldn't kill it even with fence posts in the ditch. Still have one in the shop, not so fast any more.

No sleds as a kid....."Too dangerous".....Bought my first one in 2000, a 2000 600 summit. Good sled for around here, not great for a fat guy in the mountains........

First sled!! dad bought a brand new 1970 Skiroule RT 500 for us boys, (don't think he ever rode it) that baby was fast!!! one way!!! did alot of walking that winter. Dad figured we were going to wear out his team and sleigh retrieving the sled, so he bought us a 1971 Polaris 530 Custom II, that thing was bullet proof, motor has been in four different chassis since then, it is currently in a panterra 5000 and still runs!!

71 tnt 340 crotch sucker carb .....was scary when it back fired. But at the time it was all i could afford being from a poor family and all ....Worked on in for 3 hours just to get it to go down the alley and not even make it to the field.

Hated the sled but fell in love with the sport

The first sled I rode was my dad's 1988 340 Jag Deluxe. My first sled was a 1992 Yamaha Phazer II 500(or 485 whatever floats your boat) that my dad gave me in 94 cause he bought a Venture XL, not bad for a 11 year old. Dad's are awesome.

Well I am relatively new to the sport, so my first sled was a 2008 MXZ Renegade 1000. Had a great time on it. Then the inevitable happened and I took it to Revy. The next year it was sold and the Summit was bought

1975 tnt 340 Electric, it liked to catch on fire frequently, and took 5 min for the recoil to pull the handle back in
