Shot Start

batteryless, starterless electric start. It has a small capacitor instead, you pull the cord first start and it charges that capacitor. when you push the SHOT button it send electricity into the stator turning it into an electric motor... starting the sled with no battery or starter motor. Capacitor charge lasts about 45 minutes after you shut the sled off... you may pull the cord 2-3 times a day instead of many.

SHOT is pretty damn amazing.

ok not for me then. this Polaris starts in 3 pulls if i leave inside,,outside,,i cant start it.

If you get it warm and then toss in fresh plugs, they usually fire

Ken, that one pull was enough for me to put ES on all my sleds since the shot came out. I don’t mind the extra weight and I have never read anything about the ES not working other than a dead battery.

my 83 500 EFI started 1 pull every time,,pull recoil out 1/4 slowly to activate fuel pump,then 1 good pull.. when warm.. 1/4 of a pull.. we used to show friend how to start it by removing clutch cover and give the clutch a flip by hand. and it had the factory spark plug till it burnt in my shop fire,
