Not sure but i know they hate the sounds of a house howl. They cant stand it for some reason. A great paranesse will kill them though. They are awsome protectors.

I knew someone that had a Alaskan Malmute and a Rotty - both females.. When the yote's got close to the yard, the Malmute would venture out to the field, while the Rotty stayed behind.. The Malmute would then play hurt, the yote's would come in, then all he!! broke loose.. apparently by the time the Rotty got there to help, one or more yote's were already down! I never seen it happen, but the all the yote' parts around the yard were the dogs trophies..

I don't remember when there were this many of coyotes around and so brave! When I was younger I used to hunt them all of the time when their hides were worth somthing.

Its cause no one goes to shoot them anymore. And cause alot of not respectful hunters gave us all a bad name and some farmers wont let us hunt on there land.

My hubby and I have an Pitbull, Indy, she has killed a few coyotes.... Before someone poisoned Ryder, they used to go hunting together all the time...

Now I know what everyone is thinking "OH MY GOD, Pitbulls are going to eat my babies... its not true, Indy is the most amazing, sweet-souled dog I have ever met in my life. She tends to jump on Kevin and I, but when kids are around she stays down and behaves very well.

You're area needs to do what they do around me. Every few years, once the coyotes are starting to get brave, there is a day when you can shoot as many as you like. Most of them are killed, the few that live through the day are scared of humans again. Works out very well.

We have 2 donkeys. Our dogs are ok in the pasture because they know each other, but strange dogs/coyotes/fox get chased away or stomped if they make a stand!!!

Just this year! Was reading it in this years regs!! Bout time too. :d:d

I'll say, not that it stopped to many people from taking them out, the dealer that I bought mine from said they had sold one to a conservation officer in alberta as well,

not much more exciting than seeing a coyote running full out at you!!

well I may have a few responses to on this website posting that statement!!

Akbash hound. I knew folks that had one that was raised as a sheep...lived with the sheep, but fed his own food. It was never socialized as a pet dog....no "here boy, good boy, lay down"....it was just a sheep. Wow....did the coyotes ever get a surprise when this sheep got nasty!
